Over the years I have had so many different hobbies. The photos of some of them just sit in an envelope and never looked at. If I share my makes will you share yours?
this photo is of fabric dolls now owned by my gr-granddaughters.

I wish we had a like button! How clever you are.

Nanagem Sun 02-Sep-18 16:16:12

Work in progress, it will be a footstool one day

NanaandGrampy Sun 02-Sep-18 16:16:39

oh they're lovely !!

I'm happy to share , I do all sorts of crafts so just added one of my newest makes .

Auntieflo Sun 02-Sep-18 16:19:49

Oh JuneS, they are beautiful. Apart from cushion covers, the last thing I made was a dress for my greatgranddaughter, and a crocheted summer cardigan. Oh and a crocheted blanket, being road tested by grandson.

Nanaandgrampy, that is clever. You popped that in while I was trying to find the photos!

So pleased you are sharing. All of your makes are lovely and really worth showing. Lovely to see them and envious of people who crochet or hand sew. My hands won't let me do it any more. The embroidered faces on the dolls took ages. Glad I started this as we are going to see some lovely makes.

I used to do a lot of cross stitch but these days I make cards and scrapbook layouts.
Three recent cards for my bro in law, nephew and son.

Two huge cushions I made for a raised bed/seat in a dd's garden.

I used to make pictures from scraps of tweed fabric. This is one of the best ones.

I hope it’s ok to include this here. It’s not one of mine, but is a family heirloom.
It was made probably some time in the 1920’s by my Great-uncle Joe for his sister, my Great-Aunt Florrie.
I’ve recently had an introductory lesson in calligraphy and find it fascinating and relaxing though I know I’ll never achieve the skill and artistry in this piece.

Nanagem Mon 03-Sep-18 08:18:47

Oh, they are all beautiful, I have often wondered about trying calligraphy. I tend to stick to had embroidery or knitting, with a little appliqué.

I have just ordered a punch needle, I want to make carpets for my dolls house, don’t know anything about punch needle work, so all advice would be very much appreciated.

What fab pictures - the dolls are lovely! Too many hobbies over the years but I have taken photos of a lot of them - here are some cards and a jewellery phase I went through.

So many different crafts and all so lovely. Interested to see that you have a dolls house Nanagem. I've got two, both still need work on them but have
i've lost interest. I'm hoping that someone will take and finish them one day; and treasure them, as like yours, so much work gone into them.

First of the three wise men for my Nativity set - I'm calling him Melchior. I miscounted rows so his gown is a bit long and will probably be trailing in sheep and donkey poo in the stable, but heigh ho.
I've already done my 3 sheep, so only 2 more wise men, 2 shepherds, Mary, Joseph, baby, manger and a donkey to go. Oh, and a stable to put them all in....

Beautiful dolls JuneS and so many other superb makes on here. Janeainsworth your piece is just gorgeous, I would love to be able to do that. You must show us some examples of your work once you get going!
NanaandGrampy did you make that with the aid of a Cricut machine or similar? I have a Cricut, which I got last January and I've yet to set it up and use it! I really must find time, it's such a waste.
Here are some of the things I've made recently apart from the majority of my GD's wardrobe!

Bathsheba Mon 03-Sep-18 13:52:36

And here's my latest project, all finished except for the button stud to do the closure (waiting on delivery)

Bathsheba Mon 03-Sep-18 13:53:47

I meant to say Farmor that is something I've always wanted to do, create pictures from fabric like that. Your example is really lovely, well done!

shysal Mon 03-Sep-18 14:19:45

I have tried card making for the first time this year, and have started on my Christmas ones already!

shysal Mon 03-Sep-18 14:21:10

Posted too soon. Meant to say what a lot of talent there is out there!

Witzend Mon 03-Sep-18 14:36:48

Gosh, I'm full of admiration for so much artistic talent! All your creations are lovely! I can't do anything needing artistic talent as such - apart from basic sewing I just use far more creative people's patterns.

JuneS Tue 04-Sep-18 11:30:35

Must say Witzend that my sister who cannot sew to save her life would be full of admiration of your basic sewing. I'm sure you are very modest.

Auntieflo Tue 04-Sep-18 14:18:01

Bathsheba, that's a very covetable bag. Did you use a pattern?

NanaandGrampy Tue 04-Sep-18 17:38:09

Yes Bathsheba I did use my Cricut. Ive had mine for about 3 years now and I love it. I make all my own cards, things like the frame and then use HTV (hot vinyl) to make tshirts with slogans and things like bags and kitchen towels.

Keeps me out of mischief. I'm sure you'll find it really useful, and its really simple to use.

these are some things I made using it.

Some of you paper crafters might be interested to know that Poundland have packs containing a roll and 5 sheets of double sided sticky foam pads. I have tried it and the quality seems good. I normally pay twice as much for just a roll.
