I am going to finish of my embroidery.

Chewbacca, here it is. It's a footstool. My late MiL did lots of tapestry and cross stitch work. She was also an excellent baker. Something I've never been.

I'm going to teach myself to use my sewing machine! It was given to me by my aunt. She barely used it, she couldn't get to grips with it. I've been avoiding it for months. But no more!! I'm resolute!

I have a 9 year old granddaughter who has a tiny frame (5-6 yr panties!). Clothes for a younger age are too short for her in sleeves and leg length so I am always busy knitting and sewing for her and altering some things which we buy for her. I am currently making a dress for her but am waiting for a ribbon of pearls to arrive from eBay. Today I plan to start knitting a jumper for her to match the lovely furry boots she got for Christmas. I love being creative and I thank god that I have been given my little DGD to keep me busy and fulfilled.

I'm currently halfway through a shawl and a blanket in grey, and a mitred corner blanket and ...........!
My 10 yr GD was given a sewing machine for christmas so I'm dusting mine off since I'm teaching her how to use hers. Waiting for a pattern and material to arrive to make a medaevil style dress, for myself.
Ongoing craft session with 3 youngest GCs and teaching 12yr old to draw...
Oh and drying herbs, vegetables and fruit, making salves and lotions in my spare time.
How on earth did I manage to work full time?

I have found youtube videos a great help when trying to get used to a new electric machine. Sadly after several expensive repairs I had to retire my mother's Singer machine. She never got used to it and still has her 1946 manual machine. She still sews ... In her 99th year!!

BBbevan, there are some very useful tutorials for left-handed crocheters on YouTube. I'm left-handed, but must have been an adaptable child, as I knit, sew and crochet right-handed, having been taught when I was very young.

I’m planning to use up my fabric stash by making drawstring reusable gift bags. If I can I’d like to build up a stock for selling at the Ethical Christmas Fair next year.

I like the idea of creating, but never have the confidence to try on my own for some reason.

I'd like to make a mosaic of recycled old plates, broken jewellery etc. I have been looking on youtube. First I need to buy 2 types of cutter. Perhaps just a small heart shape hanging to start with.

Currently in the middle of toddler quilt.
DDiL has bought me a subscription to a craft box company - a different something arrives once a month, with all required accoutrements enclosed. It's called Makerly or something similar.

I usually make beaded jewellery and beaded gifts to sell at craft fairs - wine charm rings, bookmarks and handbag charms. Had a go at making cards and I find that very relaxing, in fact yesterday I sorted out my card drawer, it was so muddled I couldn't find anything, so I'm going to make more cards now. I'm knitting myself a jumper at the moment but also have just started crocheting again and am making a striped dachshund toy. Who wants to do housework anyway???!!!

Your mum must have good eyesight.I really struggle to thread the needle.
I am knitting tea cosies at the moment.Wish I could crochet though.

I have just finished knitting a baby blanket which was basket weave with a moss stitch border for my nephew and his wife whose baby is due in two weeks, they requested grey wool which was a new one on me but it actually looked very nice. It was also lovely to hear that it is in the hospital bag ready to go when the time comes.
I'm now knitting cardigans for my DGD's aged 7 and 4 in a random type wool which is brightly coloured.
I did a crochet course 3 years ago and haven't picked it up since so would like to get to grips with that too.
Lots to keep me busy until I can get back into the garden.

I did a one day class in November to learn how to knit socks using 4 needles and yes I am now well away and intend to have a go at some fancy pattern ones, that when I find the time to sit still long enough indoors.

Need to make a wedding hoop embroidery. My DD2 was chief bridesmaid for her best friend & asked me to do the gift saying it's more personalised.

Next will be a quilt made from baby clothes...also for said daughter. Then another hoop embroidery for the arrival of a new baby...anytime now. Always have knitting projects throughout the yr too.

Will also be starting artwork for the Town's Open Exhibition in October.

Oh rubysong I did so enjoy knitting for my DG's baby doll. Then she moved onto "Barbie" - whom I made it my mission to "de-sluttify". (Some of the manufactured Barbie clothes are awful.) Barbie was dressed like Jaccquie Onassis by the time I'd finished, though the "fine" needles and wool needed, were hard work. (Especially after the baby doll clothes, which were easier.) Have fun!

I enjoy knitting and crochet equally and occasional embroidery. Since finding a library book called " knitting loves crochet" I now add my own versions of crocheted and embroidered embellishments to some of my work ,which gives a whole lot of scope for being extra creative. Requests from family for various projects so plenty to keep me occupied for quite a while.

I'm a lace maker, and am currently teaching myself a different type of lace (Honiton-very challenging!). So continuing with that but also been given some books on Bucks Point lace, so further projects seem to be looming! I also make cards, do cross-stitch, do some Needlefelting (ouch - those sharp needles!). Also resolved to do more Piano playing (not practice - that implies it's work, not fun). Oh and to get out more on my motorbike. I retired early last August and really wonder how I found time to go to work!

Quite by chance found a new hobby a few days before Christmas. Have bought 3 kits for "diamond painting" and looking forward to getting down to it - also determined to get to grips with my new saxophone and flute, so by this time next year I can play in a local amateur orchestra and play some of the jazz classics!
