I am thrilled this program is back, i love watching these clever people knock out incredible outfits in only a few hours. I can sew, but could never do what the contestants on the program do!

I agree about the dearth of gardening programmes lemogrove , however, there is one with Monty Don in Japan on iPlayer.
His programmes are so watchable, not least because they are truly relaxing and his dogs padding after him and lazing in the sun, complement the leisurely pace of the show.
I also like to take screenshots of any plant which takes my fancy and ask for it at my local garden centre.
Urmstongran I'm a capable sewer and no, my efforts don't look sh***y grinwink but this programme gets me fired up to buy a sewing machine, however, after the last series I still hadn't bought one (too much choice) so doubtless I'll confine myself to sewing on buttons and admiring other people's talent. hmmgrin

I used to sew a lot of my own clothes but have got out of the habit. Now I watch TGBSB and wonder how I did it! I certainly couldn't knock up a dress in 2 hours! I do love watching people doing things I couldn't do myself. Baking is another challenge I don't take up nowadays; a different story when I had family at home. Not that I'd ever manage those fancy gateaux they concoct on Bake Off. The best I could ever manage was my modified version of Black Forest Gateau which my DSs demanded as birthday cakes!

I love this programme GG54 I cannot sew for toffee but I love watching the creativity shown on this show. And the judges are so nice - polite and kind which is a joy to watch.

Yes, I love these programmes, especially the pottery throw down.I have recorded the sewing bee to watch when I have time.

TGBSB is with us once again. I do love these programmes.
The BBC do so many things so well that I haven't watched any other channels for years.
It's interesting to see the ideas that germinate and take root as the series moves forward.
Perhsps we'll be treated to another series of the Pottery Throwdown and the Gardening one too.
So much to watch and not enough time. Thank goodness for iPlayer.
Does anyone else look forward to these type of programmes or does your crafting supersede watching others having a go.
Interesting to know that one contestant used to work in a bomb disposal unit ???
We might see an explosion of colour grin on the mannequins.
