I received an email from a friend in California, who is an ace crafter. She tells me that all the crafters are making scrubs and PPA for the hospitals . I can't sew well enough but just thought some people here may set up a scheme.

I heard a radio interview with a DT teacher in a secondary school who was making equipment including visors and masks. She has up to date machines, laser printer etc which are ideal. Good for her, she was supplying local care homes and hospices.

I was contacted by a friend about a Facebook request for scrub wash bags. Easy and quick to do so set to work but the Facebook person hasn’t got back after saying she would pick things up or you could deliver to her. Hope she’s not got the virus.

A neighbour today asked for any old sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, etc., for a local sewing group to make scrubs, used-kit bags, etc. for the NHS.

Good opportunity for sorting out the airing cupboard! I’ve donated quite a bit that we no longer use.
I’d like to say I’d offer to sew, but my machine is very old now, has never been serviced, and was feeling a bit stiff last time I used it, so not sure it’d be up to any major sewing now.

There are a lot of scrub-making groups around the country *LullyDully" Anyone who is interested should look on the internet, either search on Google or try Facebook.

I am in a local Scrub hub. It’s all over the country. I make scrubs for hospitals, care homes and hospices. These are made to order from the organisations. There’s lots of volunteers in my area. Some are professionals who aren’t working.

A local 'Next door ' group has also started the same in my area. I don't sew but they are asking for people to knit pairs of hearts for the NHS too. It's to give to families who have lost loved- ones to the virus or can't be with them in the final hours. The patient has one and the family has one. Have just made the first one and they are quick and easy to make.
