I constantly read posts and see various abbreviations such as DH,AC etc and do not know what they mean. Is there somewhere I can find the answer to this thank you

Look under Acronyms, it’s on the top of my page.

Lully5A list of most abbreviations will be found at the top of this page under acronyms. When I see a post that is full of acronyms I find it very difficult to read and make sense of it so avoid it. Good luck!

Lully I hate them too but apparently we need to copy Mumsnet and write in shorthand whilst complaining about kids and text speak and how the English language is lost hilarious ??
I don’t use them myself but have to try and find my way through posts that do

I don't use them either, but as BlueBelle says, some people do.
You will get used to them. I have, mostly.

The D always stands for Dear or Darling.
H is husband
D is daughter
S is son etc.
AC is adult children.
GC is grand children, GD and GS grand son and daughter.
SIL - son in law, or sometimes sister in law.
They're the most commonly used ones.

I thought that this was going to be a thread about knitting!

Lully you say on another thread that you've seen the GN list and still don't understand some abbreviations.

What are they?

One that isn't in the list is OP.
This either means Original (or Opening) Poster or Original (or Opening) Post.

There’s a list in the ‘Getting Started’ section of the site.
