Hi I seem to be spending hours on it, I sat at laptop for two hours on GN and it went soo quick..

It just goes to show what an engaging group of members GNers are.

My resolution this year is to return to being addicted to Gransnet! I was and then the last few months I hardly went near it. I 'm back ! And am going to be on it as much as I can.grin

I have been a little weaned off the last couple of weeks by guests and a jigsaw puzzle.

As my doctor colleague would say 'as long as you do it as soon as the withdrawal symptoms start, you won't have to worry about addiction!' smile

Two hours would be depressing!

cheelu Tue 01-Jan-13 22:52:42

How long are u on it for jo5, you must be on it longer than that

Nanado Tue 01-Jan-13 22:53:09

Hello grannyeggs thought we'd not seen much from you recently smile

cheelu Tue 01-Jan-13 22:53:23

everytime I come and visit GN you are here...which is a good thing of coaurse

Nanado Tue 01-Jan-13 22:57:00

cheelu one of the best things about GN is how you can 'talk' to others about how you feel and they will respond, support and advise. I have a mental picture of many GNetters which is probably completely divorced from what they really look like. But that doesn't matter, it's what they say and how they say it that really matters. smile wine sunshine

Not two hours at a time!

I prefer quick-ish visits.

Nanado Tue 01-Jan-13 23:35:04

Some people have no staying power!

Now that I have an iPad I think I will spend shorter, quicker periods on Gransnet, but I do like catching up with everyone's posts. I sometimes feel quite out of the loop when I haven't been on for a while. My daughter jokingly described the Wonderful Man as a Gransnet widower today! Cheeky blighter! grin

I am addicted too.
Makes me feel like I'm not on my own.
Makes me feel like I'm not such a bad mum and GM

When I'm at home the pooter is on all the time and I dip in and out as I'm passing the pooter room. I'm ashamed to say that on my days off as I'm lying in bed not wanting to get up the thing that gets me out of bed is the 'I'll just turn the pooter on and see what's happening'. I did have a few other forums that I used to frequent but the people on them seem to have started twittering instead confused. When I'm on my own I sometimes leave the pooter on all night; I had a nuisance phone call one night which really upset me and someone who was awake on one of my forums talked me through it smile. I wouldn't dare get an ipad or I'd be on it all the time blush.

It's perhaps as well that we can't see who's online like you can on some forums....wink

crimson Wed 02-Jan-13 11:24:36

Oh the [in my case] thought of it blush. I'd spend so much time putting my face on I wouldn't have time to read anything [it takes longer and longer these days....]

Ana Wed 02-Jan-13 11:26:21

grin - no, I just meant that user names are sometimes displayed!

crimson Wed 02-Jan-13 11:30:24

Oh; I thought you meant skype or whatever it's called blush. You can opt out of the online status on other forums, I think. I haven't done so, so I guess they'll think I'm a right saddo blush.

Not necessarily, because you might be logged in but may not be physically there, IYSWIM - I stay logged in to GN all day but I do actually go about my daily life (such as it is!) in the meantime...

Nanado Wed 02-Jan-13 11:59:44

I always log out now, ever since my brother was staying with us and picked up my iPad!

JessM Wed 02-Jan-13 12:21:11

I was writing something in an email and started to BOLD it be typing an asterisk. Also have a tendency to think everyone understand MIL etc... Definite signs of addiction.

jO5 Wed 02-Jan-13 12:25:31

I do that on Twitter jess.
