Don't know where you are Ariadne bout our retirement move was the best one ever so I know how you feel. smile

For me is was, of course, becoming a Grandma for the second time although lots of good things have been going on and we have done a lot of positive thinking which is probably the reason things have been good.

I must find a class somewhere near as my ipad has been lying dormant for far to long, find it easier to use a keyboard to be honest.

Well, two hols abroad to see kids when I rarely get a holiday even in this country has been a highlight certainly. Both pretty much paid for by kids too which is wonderful.
Seeing mum more settled in her elderly mentally infirm unit and being able to get support from staff is great. To see her answering all the questions the social worker asked her about memory, it was one of her good days when she was so sharp she was answering almost before the words were out of the girls mouth! Hilarious. Those B12 injections have worked wonders so now have to push for them every ten weeks instead of the twelve weeks expected. Pity her poor skinny bum tho when those needles go in. Ouch!
Settled down with dad in his home too which was really hard at first to be treated like a teenager again but we have reached compromises and not too bad most of the time but long to be on my own again really. However chin up! As I did volunteer to do this.
Been a hard, tiring year but wonderful highlights too so here's to next twelve months! Cheers

Gave up my job of 12 years in a local authority for which I had worked for 24 years when the proposed changes and bullying management style finally became too much. ( I like to consider things carefully grin )

I am now about to start a new job at the age of 60. Feel like the new girl at school, getting my new bag, work clothes, pens and paper ready. What do you mean nobody uses pens and paper any more?

For me it was the start of my outside catering business and the big way it took off,it only started as a favour to a friend and snowballed from that I now have the monthly contract for the local council and have booking most week-ends until after Easter for birthdays and Christenings.
The other good thing this last year is seeing my DD happy and settled after the messy divorce she has just gone through and come out the other end a more confident and relaxed person and watching DS2 being so happy when he got engaged to the lovely girlfriend I can now spend many hours looking on e-bay for the mother of the groom outfit thank you for the info soop so 2013 will be a good year I think.
