My long dead great grandfather, so many questions regarding his particular line in my genealogy research. Every time I find something else out about his family, it poses another question. Also I have copies of letters his father sent him in 1867 and 1870, I'd love the opportunity to go through them with him line by line and find out more about his parents. I know everything there is to know about most of my other ancestors and it's not that interesting, but this particular side of the family is.

Also my late paternal grandmother. A clever, but wayward teenager from a respectable home in Liverpool who had my father out of wedlock in 1915 when she was 18. She left him with loving foster parents in Leicester but lived a rather chaotic life until settling in North Wales in the early 1950s. She was only re discovered to my dad and our family about 2yrs after her death at the age of 96. She could say who my dads father was and close a recent family history black hole. Was it her stepmother's younger brother who was in the household in 1911?

My mother who died in 1969 months before her 47th birthday.My father had died in 1965 so by the time I was 24 years old I'd lost both parents. There were so many times I needed her, wanted to talk and laugh with her.

dorsetpennt I am sorry sweet, Mums are important people as are Dads I got to keep my Mum n Dad a bit longer than that but still cry about loosing them even now years later,,I think the upside is that we were both lucky to have loving parents that loved us.. I do try to think how lucky I am compared to children that loose their parent young x
