My daughter has worked for the same firm(a family firm) for the last 8 years. She started her family(2 children)late, and is now almost 50.
She will have to work longer before she can retire, and will get a small private pension besides her old age one when she does retire.
Do small firms now have to start works pensions for their employees this year? Ime sure I heard this somewhere. The thing is, my daughter has been a single parent for a number of years, and has a mortgage, so when she eventually retires, will she have adequate funds.Any information will be helpful.smile

I think an ex wife can claim on her ex husband's contributions when gov. is assessing her pension, and see if it gives a better deal.

I was divorced and got a projected pension based on ex's contributions in case my own contributions didn't give me a full pension. As it happened, my own contributions were sufficient for full government pension.
