I was wondering if anyone has tried Silver Line if so how did you get on?

Not quite the answer to your question but just thought I would mention that I met a very nice retired teacher on holiday who had signed up to be a volunteer caller on silver line and she had been allocated a couple of people that she was phoning evey week for conversation. She was very nice and friendly and if she is an example of the sort of people who are phoning people so they have someone to speak to it should offer a good service.

Thank you Crafting for your reply. I was thinking of volunteering, that way I could help others and it would help me too. Don't know if they would want me though!

Thank you liminetta yes that is a very good idea. I would like to become a volunteer but I don't know what there is to volunteer for.

I'll get in touch with the Silver Line into the new year but what else is out there? I can only do telephone call and emailing volunteering.

Could anyone please give me details if there is anything I can find out about for volunteering via phone calls and emails. I feel a new interest coming on! sunshine

rascal take a look at your local council website they usually have a 'Volunteering' section

Ok thanks for that tanith, I never thought of that. I've just had a look at my local council's website and there seems to be nothing that I can do volunteering via telephone calls and emails only. Don't know any group that would like volunteering assistance that way.
