We've got these lights.....

My DD is taking the DGC to the Chinese New Year celebrations in Glasgow tomorrow. They are going shopping to the Chinese and Asian supermarkets to buy ingredients for a Chinese feast when they get back home.

I bought something similar Phoenix. One set displays a static picture the other displays red,blue and been dots that cover a wall or ceiling and can be static or the dots swirl. Poor description but you know what I mean. My GD loves them and they are great for parties.

Any thoughts? Yes another house in our village had theirs knicked from their front garden. . Happy partying.

You may get a few miserable gits people, who say it's Not New York 'ere you know, but I say go for it, anything bright and lively at this time of year.

I love to see twinkly lights, they cheer me up no end. Do it, lots of us appreciate it.

Seen these and would love them but our living room doesn't face the garden so would be a waste. I am obsessed with lights - i have two which are similar to the above but just have shooting stars on the ceiling and currently have unknown amount of timed battery candles and lights that come on when it's dark in the living room, kitchen and conservatory - my husband thinks I'm mad but they look so warm and cosy. The only problem is I need a lot more rechargeable batteries to power them

If you get them , do post a picture. I think they sound great !

Many years ago I was given a lamp which oddly had a pink light bulb. I felt I had to change the light bulb in case people thought that I was advertising the local brothel!

Oh, Charleygirl, that reminded me of when I shared a house with a friend and some other students in the late 60s/early 70s. My friend thought a red bulb in the porch would give a nice, welcoming glow!

We were very naive in those days and couldn't understand why strange men were knocking on the windows in the middle of the night asking for 'Sheila'...
