George Foreman Grill - drip tray

I have always had a George Foreman Grill and recently got a nice new one with removeable plates. The plates are wonderfully easy to clean.

However..... never before have I had a problem with any of the drip trays. On this one some the running off fat misses the drip tray and makes a mess. It's not that the drip tray is full.... and I have pushed the drip tray well back and under the Grill ensuring it is in place.
It's as if some of the fat rolls down the grill, around the curve of the removeable plate and onto the underside of the Grill, past the drip tray.
I've taken to placing several sheets of newspaper on the worktop when using it.

Googling hasn't brought up any relevant information.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Sorry you haven't had any replies and I can't help either but wanted to ask if you found the removable plates heated up ok? I've got a George F but without removable grills but I much preferred the Anthony Worral Thompson one I used to have - that did have removable grill plates and was excellent!

I only have the old one with no problem. If you need a drip tray of the old type I will send you one but this seems like a different problem. PM me if you want the old type.

I have a GF grill with removable plates, and the drip tray sits there neatly and catches it all, no mess at all.Wonder if they have packed the wrong drip tray in when you bought it?Phone or email them with the problem.?

Solved it.
My own fault.
To protect the workshop I always set the grill on a large glass chopping board. The back feet were off the chopping board and so altered the slant of the base, when the fat dripped off some of it was rolling onto the underside beyond the drip tray.

annsixty - thanks for your offer.

chelseababy - The removable plates are brilliant but I don't think it's as hot as the old type and is a little slower. However it still is excellent and I love it and use it all the time.

rosesarered - thank you for your suggestion, I'm sorted. I did see that the drip tray can be bought on line for about £2.50.
