Mothercare loved so much bouncing cradle

I haven't had a Mothercare one but did have a similar one. You had to really force the fabric off the foot end and then it would the slide off the bars and top of the bouncer. The battery pack had a very small screw deep set in the plastic.
Don't know if this will help you at all.

Thanks for that - not sure this one is the same - and certainly no screw on the battery pack. I have a feeling I will be taking it to mothercare to see if they can help. If I force it any more I'm going to break it. Very frustrating!!

Mothercare staff had no idea what to do although they tried. And the online customer support team members are "not product trained" so they can't help either. Guess this chair will be going to the tip! Shame as there are lots of this style of Mothercare chair for sale on eBay etc. Hope others have more luck.

I have a similar one (not Mothercare) and the cover sort of tucks in tightly around the battery pack, though it's not immediately obvious. I have to pull it out and then the cover just slides off.

I had the same problem because our cat used to sit in the bouncer and make it grubby. The inner cushion is easy to remove and wash, but I gave up trying to get the proper cover off and just sponged it down. Not ideal.

Did you buy it on Ebay or from a shop?
If it was shop bought take it back to them. If it is for a baby and not washable IMO it is barely "fit for purpose" . Tell them in store to demonstrate it or give you a refund.
To just send it to land fill is not good environmentally. Can you not scrub the fabric clean in situ?

Thank you to all for your comments and advice. It came from a very reliable charity sale - it's actually really clean but I have to wash it properly to be happy with it. As neither we nor the Mothercare staff can get it off and Mothercare on-line customers service people are not product trained - nor can they get me any instructions I shall give up. I will donate it back to the same sale and hope someone else has better luck than me!

I've asked a friend who used to work for Mothercare , she says she thinks it may be sponge clean only......sorry!
