My D D is wondering what names to use with her D D for her 'bits' . The proper anatomical names seem a bit much for a 2 year old. I know it sounds ridiculous but we can t remember what words we used to use. Any suggestions?

We always called it a miffy. I've no idea why! Flower is nice..

Wasn't Miffy a rabbit in a children's book...? shock

NanaandGrampy Tue 31-Jan-17 16:40:02

My girls called it a Lulu ! And my Grandaughter calls it her Minnie . smile .

The 3 eldest grandkids also know the proper names but not the 2 year old.

It was called a "flossy" in our house.
A friends daughter called hers a "nu-nu" when she was little confused

I taught my daughter the proper names from the start but she did keep calling it her Volvo.

grin Teetime!

Oh Teetime that really made me giggle. We called ours a twinky but Volvo is much better grin

I don't remember what I called it for DD's, or DS ( too long ago) but DGS1 calls it a dinky, and DGS 2 a willy.Haven't heard little DGD call it anything.grin Teetime love the volvo.

rosesarered Tue 31-Jan-17 17:16:52

Typo.....haven't heard.

rosesarered Tue 31-Jan-17 17:17:38

I also like twinky.smile

DD and I can't remember what we said when she was little, but I know she just says 'your bits' to her DC (both girls). They both refer to boys having 'willies'.

I do think it's difficult if you go down the anatomically correct route (no pun intended), because the whole 'front bottom' is not just a vagina, vulva or labia. It's made up of lots of parts! grin

My daughter told her daughter it was her 'lady bits' but my GD must have misheard as she now calls it her ladybird which I think is quite sweet!

kittylester Tue 31-Jan-17 18:15:03

In our house it was a twinkle and our daughters have used that for their children whilst ensuring they know the correct anatomical names. Male bits are called wellies and balls and I recently had aconversation with Bertie which gave me much more information about his stepfather's than I ever wanted to know!! blush

rosesarered Tue 31-Jan-17 18:18:16

grin haha!

BlueBelle Tue 31-Jan-17 18:19:52

Here's a funny but true story We always called it a Minnie when my grandaughter wore some panties with a picture of Minnie Mouse on the front and the name Minnie on the back her brother proclaimed to his mum ' oh look Mum xxxxx has her panties on back to front'

downtoearth Tue 31-Jan-17 18:21:06

We had a winkie and a moneybox...my GM used to refer to mine as a money box ....just made it difficult if anyone gave you some pennies....

BBbevan Tue 31-Jan-17 18:33:09

Czech called it his seed box ?

BBbevan Tue 31-Jan-17 18:34:24

No he didn't DS called it his seed box

Morgana Tue 31-Jan-17 18:38:07

Minnie is the name of their cat! I quite like flower but D D not impressed with that. She wants names for all the bits. Boys are so much easier with 'willy' it is used by adults and is not rude. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

BBbevan Tue 31-Jan-17 20:44:15

A child at school said it was her " best China"

Ana Tue 31-Jan-17 20:54:40

Oh dear...that's like men referring to their 'crown jewels'.

Jane10 Tue 31-Jan-17 21:00:01

We only have GSs. They have willies but my eldest GS (aged 4 at the time) told me I had a nu-nu!

Over 30 years ago, my then 5 year old son came home from school one day and told me that they'd been learning about kings and Queens in class. I asked him what he'd learnt but he went red in the face, giggling and said that he couldn't tell me! I pressed him to tell me and eventually, convulsed in giggles, he told me that all Queens were "named after girls willy's "! confused He finally managed to explain that his teacher had told them all that all Queens are known as Regina. And all the little boys in the class mixed up Regina, with vagina, and they all came out of school that day convulsed in embarrassed giggles! That took a while to unravel!
