Where are the Tory big beasts?

Since Thursday I haven't seen any senior Tory MPs make an appearance on TV/Radio.

Theresa May is taking a lot of flak but she didn't enter the Election alone - I'm just wondering where the cowards Cabinet members are right now hmm

They do not want to be associated with a loser Probably busy preparing their bids for becoming P.M.

Ana Sat 10-Jun-17 18:59:27

Are there any tory 'big beasts'?

Rigby46 Sat 10-Jun-17 19:04:34

They are all waiting to see what is in their own personal best interests - they are Tories after all

Riverwalk Sat 10-Jun-17 19:16:56

Seemingly not Ana.

I expect a couple of MPs will appear tomorrow with some sorry excuse as to how they weren't responsible for the debacle.

Such cowards.

More like miniature ponies

How sweet! smile

Ken Clarke had said he would retire at the next election, but he still stood for this one. And was re-elected.

Atqui Sun 11-Jun-17 17:09:47

Rigby46 Do you insult everyone who disagrees with your point of view ?

LadyGracie Sun 11-Jun-17 17:31:32

There is an awful lot of insulting and sniping on all political threads at the moment. I think it may be a case of bitter losers and disappointed winners!

It wasn't a good election at all for anyone, but we just have to accept it and not speculate on ifs and maybes! .

GillT57 Sun 11-Jun-17 17:48:56

It was reported on Woman's hour, when they were discussing the situation on Friday, that nobody, none of the BBC reporters were able to get in touch with any of their contacts, all mobiles switched off apparently. Save a lot of loose talk I suppose. As for big beasts, I suppose Heseltine is one and he certainly gave his opinion on Andrew Marr this morning. grin

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 18:10:57

Atqui I'll try and explain as simply as possible to you why I posted what I did. The country is facing the huge issue of Brexit. Remember that? The government had a majority. I'm sure you can google that. She called a completely unnecessary election - remember that for no good reason other than to increase her majority. She put herself and her party before the good of all of us. Her cabinet colleagues apparently knew all about the toxicity of what was going on in No10 and allowed themselves to be treated with utter contempt by Nick and Fiona with Tessie's blessing. You can read about that as well. They did nothing because they didn't give a flying fig about the country but only themselves and hanging onto their positions. The whole bunch of them put themselves and their interests before the country and now they have climbed into bed with a bunch of bigots who believe that a pregnant raped child should be forced to give birth. Nice. And they are putting the whole GFA in danger - for their own self interest. Power at any price. If saying all this is insulting those that disagree with me then I stand by it all. These selfish self interested Tories are sending us down a dangerous road and they don't care

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 18:12:45

And if you thought my first post was insulting, then you really aren't up for political debate are you?

Atqui Sun 11-Jun-17 18:43:59

You are a very patronising woman ....or who knows perhaps you are a man, Rigby. To call all Tories self serving .....well you should get out more!! Oh , and I don't suppose the promise of having ones university loans repaid , and no tuition fees as a reason for a young person voting labour was anything but altruistic.??

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 19:14:44

Atqui what exactly did Rigby say that was insulting. Let's just critique her post.

Seemingly not Ana. This was in reply to Ana's "Are there any tory 'big beasts'?" Nothing at all unreasonable there.

I expect a couple of MPs will appear tomorrow with some sorry excuse as to how they weren't responsible for the debacle. Not complimentary about Tory MPs but, currently, who would be? Certainly not insulting anyone on here.

Such cowards. I refer my honourable friend to my previous answer.

So absolutely nothing insulting although an opinion about Tory MPs. What it makes me ask Atqui, is why would you make the comment about Rigby being insulting when there was nothing insulting in her post. Were you just trying to inflame things and cause a row perhaps?

Atqui Sun 11-Jun-17 19:24:18

See post at 19.04
No,I,do not wish to,inflame anything. Kept my fingers off the keypad for quite a while on other threads , but blanket generalisation just got to me. Well, I don't suppose one can have a blanket generalisation but you know what I mean.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 19:29:54

Is this the highest level of political debate?

To call all Tories self serving .....well you should get out more!!

(If you read the post correctly Atqui you will see that Rigby was not talking about "all" Tories - although some my see the Cons views that way; she was actually referring to May and her cabinet colleagues)

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 19:31:54

I do Atqui but I would still like to know why you called Rigby's post insulting. Not a single member of GN was insulted and this is a politics thread so there will be some straight talking about politicians.

Ana Sun 11-Jun-17 19:35:13

GracesGranMk2, you were actually referring to Riverwalk's post in yours of 19.14.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 20:04:24

I was indeed Ana - apologies all round but it makes no difference.

In Rigby's post (if I have got the right one this time) she says They are all waiting to see what is in their own personal best interests - they are Tories after all In reply to your post saying Are there any big beasts so still talking about politicians - your missing big beasts - and not a member of GN so how can she be being insulting anyone.

It may offend Atqui's on opinion of the Tory MPs but this is a political thread and you really cannot expect everyone to think the Tories are wonderful - especially at the moment when they have brought us into such chaos.

Ana Sun 11-Jun-17 20:09:40

I actually agree that Rigby's post in this case was not at all insulting to anyone on here. I only noticed you had the wrong post because I couldn't remember Rigby addressing me by name (which she didn't).

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 20:16:01

Thanks for telling me about it Ana. I should slow down and read properly!smile

willsmadnan Sun 11-Jun-17 20:16:20

Well, actually I object to Rigby lecturing us as if we were children. .. I'll try and explain that to you as simply as possible. Well how kind of you ! And when he/ she is not talking down to us un-educated morons he/she is bloody insulting.

Deedaa Sun 11-Jun-17 21:07:08

I see Andrew Marr found it very difficult to find anyone to appear on his programme this morning, although George Osborne was a VERY happy bunny grin Presumably they are all waiting to see what sort of spin they should put on it to make us think it's been a wonderful success.

Riverwalk Sun 11-Jun-17 21:26:33

Osborne could barely contain his glee.

I did think his 'dead woman walking' was a sh*tty thing to say - he after all is the architect of austerity which May was continuing.
