Ok, we have an Amazon Fire Stick, and Amazon prime.

When we want to hear a particular song, we can ask Alexa for it, and it will be be played through the tv in the sitting room. (that is the only tv we have, and don't want another)

So, if we got one of those Dot things, and put it in the kitchen, would we be able to do the same thing, and if so, would the sound quality be compromised, or would we need to add speakers?

(Mr P is currently in the sitting room using Alexa to listen to Heroes, by David Bowie, rather clashing with my radio 4 in the kitchen, I would quite like to be able to listen to it in the kitchen too!)

Oh heaven's, he's now on Lola, love that song!

I have a dot and wasn't very impressed by the sound quality when listening to music so bought this little blue tooth speaker which much improves things.

Don't know anything about doing things in different rooms!

If you google Dot multiroom music, there is advice on setting up the same music using the app to play in different rooms.
We have a Dot in the dining room hooked up to small computer speakers and one in the bedroom with no additional speakers. I find the quality acceptable in both cases. The taller more expensive version has a better speaker supposedly, but I’m told it’s not worth the extra cost.
