I am absolutely gutted too. I relax and unwind with Flog It . It’s familiar and easy watching. We should start a petition .

And why did they change the time of Eggheads? Missed it for a few days until I realised it was on at an earlier time. DH and I had a routine of sitting down to watch it at 6pm with a drink while dinner was cooking. So I watch it on catch-up at the same time with my drink while dinner is on! (even though DH is sadly no longer with me).

There’s always Bargain Hunt and Antique Road Trip not to mention Dinsons Real Deal. There’s plenty to watch. Personally , come four o’clock I’m ready for a cup of tea and a double episode of Law and Order.

I used to find Paul Martin a bit irritating and patronising too, but he does seem better on the new show. Can't say the same for some of the contestants - yesterday's especially! But I do like the format.

There is just something about Paul Martin that DH and I don't like. He can come across as patronising at times. Though I do like his new apperance.
I have only seen one episode of the new show and thought one of the contestants was pretty dire. The shows format is nothing new but then there are only so many ways for an antiques show to go.

I don’t think he’s had any work done at all ( I can usually see it a mile away) he’s a naturally good looking man and his shorter hair looks great I liked the format of the show

I really like the new show and my DD agrees with me that Paul's new look is a great improvement. Casual clothes, hair allowed to go grey and a slight tan have made him very easy on the eye, although DD is convinced he may have had some work done, I can't see it! Shallow I know but you have to take small pleasures when you can. wink

I like his new show much better I think it is enjoyable with a bit different slant to it The other one was getting tired

Have you seen Paul Martin's new show, Make Me A Dealer? I watched the first one, but won't be watching any more. I thought it was dire. Another take on Bargain Hunt was my impression.

I agree totally, Nannymags27, I love Flog It, and other programmes like it. They are a comfort after a busy day, or when I feel a bit lonely (My husband died 18 mths ago). They are a balm amongst all the violence that is on TV, particularly on the news - and not only that, there is always a lot to learn through them. I think the TV schedulers, and advertisers of course!, have to see that the older viewers are equally important, and will boost viewing figures. I do enjoy quiz shows too, and also the property programmes like Escape to the Country, Better than any soaps, which are filled with so much negativity, and make the world seem such a dark place, which I don't believe it is!

The very one!

Do you mean Flog It that's on BBC2?

Nannymags27 Wed 10-Oct-18 16:47:45

Am I the only one to be a bit fed up with them cancelling Flog it? And it’s all so they can finance game shows! Flog it is good “comfort viewing” after a busy ( or not so busy!) day. People at our time of life don’t seem to matter any more when it comes to the TV schedules!
