Thanks for your comments, I will cotact my credit card company to try and get my money back. The t's and c's did say returns were allowed so hopefully they will help.

There is a telephone No on FB. It's a Chinese phone No.

You're absolutely right trisher, the completion and submission of forms for a County Court judgement is very little. It's the enforcing of an unsatisfied ccj that is costly, and usually unproductive, if the company is outside the jurisdiction of UK courts. That's why I recommend that the OP establish exactly where the company's registered offices are before any legal action commences.

The woman who set up Gracemomo is Malaysian.
She's buying from the cheap sites and selling them on.
The clothes are very recognisably from the cheap sites.
I'm sorry to say but you just have to put it down to experience.

Chewbacca filing in the small claims court costs little or even nothing depending on your income.

Sorry, 1 review, not 30 blush

Chewbacca Sun 01-Sep-19 12:12:57

Just had a look at gracemomo on TrustPilot. They're in the unique position of having 30 reviews that are 100% negative.

Before you start any legal action against them, establish where their registered offices are first. If they're not registered within the UK, you won't be able to enforce a County Court judgement and you'll just be throwing good money after bad.

Don't know how much you spent but if you have proof that they arrived at the return address and it is a substantial amount you could threaten to take them to the small claims court.

Seems that they ship from China!
I always look for reviews before I purchase from companies that are not well known. As an extra precaution I pay using PayPal.

There are some companies selling online, particularly advertising on Facebook, that don’t ship from the UK and are virtually impossible to return to. You have to be very careful about ordering and also look at the T-shirt and Cs. We are used to being able to return items but one bag company will only accept returns if goods are damaged. I simply didn’t like the bag and it was smaller than I thought and I ended up getting 50% of my money back because PayPal took up the case.(and keeping the bag). If companies ship from China it can cost more to return the goods than they are worth. It is advisable to only buy dearer items from reputable, well known firms or from Amazon. And always check the T-shirt and Cs.

How did you pay Vik? If by credit card, can your card company help?
I had dealings with a dicey cab company on New Years Eve and my credit card company recovered the money for me.

I ordered a silk blouse online, it was very expensive but I wanted to wear it to go to the palace so pushed the boat out.
Had email to say order was being processed and I would receive it in a few days. The blouse never arrived, my emails were ignored and eventually I got through to the company on the phone but they couldn't have cared less. The palace had been and gone by the time I got through to them.
This was a company that advertised itself as dressing the aristocracy and providing the perfect clothes for country house weekends.
I can only assume that my address up north triggered some kind of automatic veto ?

BlueBelle Sun 01-Sep-19 06:55:42

Never heard of them if they are not trading from the address given on their paper work then you need Trading Standards if that fails CAB

NotSpaghetti Sat 31-Aug-19 23:43:10

I don't know this company but maybe contact the CAB for advice?
Good luck.

Give them a terrible review on Amazon ( if you bought through them?)
It sounds as if it’s an awful set up, so thanks for telling us about the site.

This is a nightmare, I’ve just had a similar situation with something that was never sent, I contacted them several times to request a refund, no response whatever, so finally I contacted PayPal, and although I haven’t actually had the refund yet, I have had a notification that it’s pending.

I ordered some clothes from gracemomo, when they came they did not fit so i contacted them about returning and getting a refund since then i have just been given the run around. They would not give me the return address so i sent them back to the return address on the postage label, i sent this as a signed for package so i know it had arrived, they now say they have no staff at that address and i should get the royal mail to retrieve the parcel. I just want my money back any suggestions
