N Wales ?. The Bodnant estate has some lovely cottages

Norfolk has some lovely beaches and places of interest. Really easy to get to from the Midlands on the A47.

Pembrokeshire - best UK holiday we’ve ever had

Yorkshire Dales? We had wonderful holidays in Wensleydale and Swaledale when ours were young. M1 and then A1 makes the area easily accessible.

How old are the children. If they are only little they may not want to go too far. Teenagers would clearly be looking for a bit more excitement

Tenby,Angelsey, fabulous places for families and lots of choice of accomadation

Harlech Bay, Abersoch, anywhere in Mid or North Wales is relatively near.

It does depend on the ages of the children and what they enjoy doing.

I was thinking Norfolk too, lovely beaches and never too crowded.

Norfolk Broads perhaps.

Cornwall, West Wales on the coast eg Llangranog

Our most memorable family holidays were spent on the beach at Lyme Regis.

Swanage in Dorset as they have children, is a good place for a family holiday.

The south west coast is so beautiful with cliffs and rocky coves etc. but Cornwall is very crowded. South Wales is very similar but less crowded. We had a great family holiday there.

Maybe not quite what you are thinking of but the Isle of Mann is wonderful.
