My Mother who suffers from Dementia is getting more and more depressed each day during this lockdown, she used to look forward to going to the day centre twice a week but now has not been out of the house for nearly two months, I would like to take her out for a drive if possible as I still take care of her.

Does she live with you?

I have taken my mother for a drive. She doesn't live with me but I had to drive her to a couple of hospital appointments that she was advised could not be postponed so I just drove the 'long way round ' to give her a change of scenery. It really cheered her up. It's your decision east12 but I cant see the harm in taking your Mum out for a drive, especially if you do live with her.

You could take her out in the car, go to a nice park and have a walk around. She would perhaps welcome a change of scenery and a bit of fresh air.

A drive will be good, think it’s allowed now so take a sandwich and a drink and have a walk and a bit of a picnic. If it’s windy like today, eat in the car looking out at somewhere nice.
