Hit me with your great ideas for a sophisticated Plantation-house=ove rlooking=the=sea themed bedroom.

Apart from white shutters & a dark wooden floor what else? I don't want to put a cheesy fan on the ceiling but I need ideas for furniture that reflect that feel.. & no Vera Duckworth beach scene wallpaper! Tropical island luxury getaway. grin Even ££££ ideas are ok because I could work out a way of doing them on the cheap. Thank you!

White bedding and soft furnishings? Large leafed plants, to give a tropical feel?

Dark wooden, plantation era furniture (lightened up by the white fabrics).

But you have to have a ceiling fan! They're not cheesy. Perhaps like the ones they have in Raffles Hotel in Singapore which are not the usual type.

Dark wood or rattan and cane furniture with white linen, and a sisal or rush floor mat?

I've decided that my house decor is far too safe and boring!

Now, if I've won a substantial amount on the Premium Bonds this month I shall have a total revamp.
I know it won't be a million.
