Sending flowers via the internet.

I want to send my daughter some flowers to cheer her up. Never done it online before. I spent ages picking the right bunch, but when I went to pay, I was expecting to provide a few words to go on a gift tag or something. No mention of a card or message. Just press here to pay for you chosen flowers. Is this the norm with internet flowers?

Septimia Tue 17-Nov-20 14:13:18

I wouldn't have thought that was the norm. I have one company that I use regularly, but I have occasionally used others. As far as I can remember, they all had a section for a message, either on their standard card or on a special one.

Did you use a specialist flower company or one that delivers other gifts as well?

I sent flowers last night and was given the option of a message.
I also was able to include a greetings card.

I used Bloom and Wild to send my daughter's birthday flowers tomorrow. I have had some lovely ones myself from there.

I frequently send flowers on line. They are usually very good quality, but I do steer away from M&S and Next.

At the moment I’m into letterbox flowers, their lasting quality and bloom quality is very good.

The company I use I Prestige. Never been disappointed.

Also recommend Bloom and Wild. They do postbox flowers that fit thru the letterbox too.

One of my sons sent me some letter box flowers after I had an operation. Thing is the message was lost so I had to text all three children to find out who had sent them!

Bloom and Wild as others have said. I use them frequently and ?never been a problem

I've sent and received flowers using Bloom and Wild; also Zing Flowers. Very happy with both. As others have said, Bloom and Wild's letterbox packaging is great; while I've found Zing good for plants in pots. Both firms offer personalized cards for messages.

I have used Mark's and Spencer many times and have been very pleased with them. Easy to add gift tag

kittylester Tue 17-Nov-20 15:11:01

I've used LetterBox flowers and the recipients have always been pleased .........and known they were from me!!

Jayt Tue 17-Nov-20 15:12:33

I received flowers from Bloom and Wild. They were dreadful. The picture on their website was beautiful but the reality was a flat box of very tired flowers. I sent them photos of what I’d received and they sent some more, which were almost as bad. Maybe I was just unlucky - twice- but I’d never use them.. Stick to M&S or contact a florist local to the recipient and cut out the Interflora middleman

Angel Strawbridge (Escape to the Chateau) has a range of flowers with Next.

DD sent me some for my birthday and they were beautiful and long lasting.

glammanana Tue 17-Nov-20 15:19:05

I have sent and received flowers from Bloom and Wild and always had lovely flowers the ones I received for my birthday lasted a good 10 days they came with a gift card and small chocolate's the last ones I got from M&S where awful.

Parsley3 Tue 17-Nov-20 15:30:22

Another fan of Bloom and Wild here and there is a choice of card. The flowers do look tired ( or sleeping as they call it ) when the box is opened but they soon perk up after a few days and look lovely.

We frequently use Bloom & Wild letter box flowers.

I sent some to my cousin’s daughter a couple of weeks ago. They looked quite pretty on arrival but were partially closed. Within a couple of days, when they opened up, they were beautiful.

A friend sent me Morrison’s letterbox flowers, again they looked pretty on arrival but after a couple of days they were really lovely. They lasted about 3 weeks.

I would recommend Bloom and Wild and Morrison’s (see photo).

jayt I used BLOOM and WILD just once and it wasn’t good at all admitted I bought the lower price bunch because they not cheap but it was very weak and wishy washy and didn’t improve with keeping it was about £20 and I expected better

I get much better if I ring through to a proper florist (who are working for deliveries throughout lockdown)

May I suggest that rather than sending flowers you buy a plant?
I have orchids which were sent to me years ago that re flower .
Even the first flowers last much longer on plants than cut flowers do.
If you do send flowers please do not send tulips .
They definitely do not last.

Bloom & Wild are great. Be aware that they can look a bit sad when they first arrive. But within 24 hours the do ‘bloom’. Each time I have recieved or sent them they have lasted a good 3 weeks.

Lancslass1 Tue 17-Nov-20 16:10:04

I agree re Bloom and Wild .
They look sad at first but soon perk up.
Clever idea.

I had a bouquet of dried flowers which were actually from Moonpig. I was so pleased with them because they will last for at least a year. Generally I would not recommend Moonpig for flowers.

I recently had some flowers from friends in Australia, an absolutely gorgeous and unusual bunch. They found out the name of a florist near to me and rang them and gave a specific order including a message.

dragonfly46 Tue 17-Nov-20 16:13:57

I also endorse Bloom and Wild. My DD sends me them every month. They look sad to begin with but after they have been in water overnight they soon perk up. My DS sent me some over two weeks ago and they are still alive!

The gift card option on some sites is difficult to find, often its at the payment stage of the transaction. I have had problems with this as well Howjado I've had to back track sometimes to find it.

Does anyone send flowers to Europe?
