DPD courier email - A scam I think

I had an email today saying that a package with an incomplete address had failed to be delivered. It asked me to update my address. At the bottom of the form it asked for my DOB and mother’s maiden name. It said I could pay £10 to retrieve it from the warehouse( in London) or £ 2. To reschedule a delivery. He DOB and mother’s maiden name was a red flag to me , so I’m presuming it was a scam. Has anyone else had this

Yes, I have. Delete immediately -don't give any information, particularly your bank account details, as soon as you press on the link they can gain access to your bank accounts.

Atqui
Thousands of people have had them.

This very subject was on a consumer programme this morning. They said it's a scam.

Isn't it shocking that people are out to extort money every which way ? After murder, theft comes high on my list of evil crimes.

Yes, me too, a few weeks ago. I just deleted it as we weren't waiting in a delivery. Beggars belief to how low these people will stoop to get their hands on our hard earned money! Best we share these experiences, keep vigilant and make sure we don't get caught out.

I'm still waiting to be arrested for HMRC underpayment, apparently theirs a warrant out for my arrest!

Shame for DPD who have just delivered a package to my mum in a very efficient manner.

I had this about 4 weeks ago, recognised as scam, double deleted.

I had the same message yesterday, deleted it as I wasn't expecting a parcel anyway.
Our local police put a warning on the town FB page today after an elderly lady who lives along our road was scammed by someone, she gave them some money (in the thousands) but the bank became suspicious when she went to a branch much further from here, to get another larger amount, after she'd told the lowlife that our branch didn't open every day. He told her to take a taxi and he'd pay the bill! It really makes your blood boil.

We had a thread about this a few weeks ago.
