What do you think of the Queen’s new statue?

Just had a quick look 25Avalon - not the best I have to agree. It looks more like Princess Margaret ?

It's not finished yet though, is it? I think it's looking good. Much better than the Diana statue anyway!

I think it’s lovely.

I've not seen a picture of it, so can't comment, but I do hope it's better than the Diana statue. (Although maybe that looks better in situ than it does on a 2 dimensional photo, which is all I've seen).

I think she’s better looking than that, but maybe it will look all right in context and at a distance.l

Ok I ve found it and I think it’s pretty awful, she looks harder and uglier than she is, even in her old age
She’s got a very furrowed forehead and the mouth is too wide
I think he could have made her look nicer without it being untruthful
If I was a generation after her death I would not think she was very pleasing to look at like when I see statues of Victoria who may possible have looked better in real life

I don’t mind the first sculptures work JaneJudge, it has a softness and flow to it,( which the Princess Diana sculpture sorely lacked). It also in a artistic shorthand (for want of a better phrase) describes her pert face well.

With both an artist son & dil and watching Fake or Fortune, I feel like a right art connoisseur ?

Hair looks like it's been squigged through some sort of childs toy plastine thingy.

She is a cuddly great grandmother with compassion
and a sense of humour that was very much in evidence on her zoom meetings.?
