Hello all,

Feeling rather less than tickety boo confused

Freezing cold and shivering (heating is on and turned up to almost 23 shock) headache.

Was fine this morning, until halfway through my mug of tea, when I suddenly had to dash to the loo.

It wasnt pretty, a mop and bucket had to be deployed blush

Had a shower, and a slice of dry toast, waited until I thought it was safe, and set off to Lidl.

Gentle reader, if you are of a sensitive disposition, look away now.

On getting out of the car, the world fell out of my bottom shockblush Fortunately I was wearing dark jeans.

Back in car (carrier bag on seat, just in case). Indoors, clothes in the washing machine and another shower.

It is since then that I have had the bad headache and felt so very cold. I'm usually the one complaining that house is too hot!

Any ideas? I'm not usually prone to bowel problems.

phoenix Fri 24-Jan-20 17:58:48

Oops!

Don't think so tanith Mr P and I had the same meal last night, and he's fine.

Jomarie Fri 24-Jan-20 17:59:45

Oh you poor thing!
Sending you heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery - obviously keep warm and drink lots of fluids - personally I would stay off any food for a goodly while and then only a piece of toast maybe - don't stray too far from the loo! grin flowers

No vomiting Twice

MissAdventure Fri 24-Jan-20 18:01:21

Oh..
I think there is a virus going around with those sorts of symptoms, but then there is also the thought about THE virus.

TwiceAsNice Fri 24-Jan-20 18:06:10

I bet you’re thankful for small mercies then Phoenix!! I do hope you feel better soon whatever has caused it.

MerylStreep Fri 24-Jan-20 18:07:17

Phoenix
It sounds as if some nasty germ? was desperate to find its way out ( sorry, dark humour)
As you have no problems in that region it does sound like a germ, particularly with the feeling cold.
When I have a bad diverticulitis attack, I'm freezing.

DillytheGardener Fri 24-Jan-20 18:07:21

Norovirus by the sounds of it, have you been vomiting? Make sure you buy some dyrolite, and make sure you don’t become dehydrated. I was in hospital overnight before Christmas from an upset stomach from both ends as I became dehydrated from being so ill, turned out to be norovirus....

Haven’t been sick so much since I used to go up to London to nightclubs in the early 80’s shock

phoenix Fri 24-Jan-20 18:09:38

Thank you all.

Don't think it could be THE virus MissA, not in our little village.

phoenix Fri 24-Jan-20 18:10:21

No Dilly no vomiting.

Septimia Fri 24-Jan-20 18:22:12

Ooh, nasty, phoenix. Good thing you're practical and coped.
As has already been said, drink plenty and I hope it all settles down soon.

midgey Fri 24-Jan-20 18:22:52

My hairdresser has just told me the same story! Sounds like a really horrible bug. Hope you feel better soon.

curvygran950 Fri 24-Jan-20 18:31:20

Sorry to hear about your horrid (mis)adventures . If you’re still feeling unwell after a couple of days, do please, please contact your doctor, if only for advice . Wishing you well .

tanith Fri 24-Jan-20 18:41:27

Thinking about it the same symptoms I had with Norovirus last year

tanith Fri 24-Jan-20 18:42:11

I had no vomiting with it.

phoenix Fri 24-Jan-20 18:48:55

Ooh er! Will be carefull!

I emailed Mr P to warn him that my shopping trip had been aborted, he got some shopping on the way home from work (bless him) including tins of tomato soup, which he offering to beat up.

Urmstongran Fri 24-Jan-20 18:55:10

I had similar over Christmas phoenix missed all the festivities then similar (without the loo trips) over the NY. Cramping pains, bloating, nauseous (but no vomiting even the first day). Felt washed out for 2 weeks in total with the occasional ‘okayish’ day now and again. I felt as though I’d been kicked high in the stomach under my ribs.Reassured by doctor just a nasty gastric bug doing the rounds.

Fluids, paracetamol & rest for a few days. Ginger biscuits and cups of tea helped the nauseous feelings. I had scrambled eggs for my dinner on Christmas Day!

Hope this reassures you and that you feel better soon. x

Auntieflo Fri 24-Jan-20 18:56:15

Oh Phoenix, sorry to hear you have been poorly sick, ? but don't let Mr P beat up your tins of tomato soup.?

hulahoop Fri 24-Jan-20 18:57:38

phoenix Fri 24-Jan-20 19:09:08

Damn predictive text, although it could be worse, someone on Freecycle was offering an upright dysentery hoover!

nanaK54 Fri 24-Jan-20 19:33:58

Ah quick snap up the dysentery hoover it could come in handy grin
Feel better soon flowers

sodapop Fri 24-Jan-20 19:44:26

Sorry you have such a horrible bug Phoenix, hope you recover soon. Rest and clear fluids until you feel better.
Why do we not get some glamorous but mild illness where we can drape ourselves on the sofa in a negligee and look dramatic grin
