My mother used to buy socks with soft tops, non elasticated. I can't get the link to work, but just Google soft top socks uk, and you'll find them.

Just discovered this company. I need size 9 and could never find fun or colourful socks. Also women's socks always end with size 7 or 8 or are one size.

These do them all in 3 sizes and they are brilliant. Soft material, soft tops and long. Wash well,

I have been on a mission for the last couple of years to find comfortable socks and have tried dozens of makes from very cheap to expensive. The best that I have settled on are Seasalt .

I’ve bought cheap ones (Morrison’s & M&Co) and wouldn’t waste money on them again, expensive ones (Bamboo), but I’m sticking with John Lewis bundles of 5 pairs for £12 which I pick up in Waitrose.
Many to choose from NanKate - from conservative to highly patterned.

I have tried to find comfortable socks many times, and have never really managed to find something that suited my small size foot length, but very swollen diabetic feet and Ankles.

Some of my spectacular fails have been nothing short of a Rip-off, with a high price tag, narrow leg, and no elastic, just slithering off my foot, and ending bunched up down into my shoe even before l have reached my Front door!

I have even tried buying some Diabetic Men’s socks from a large specialist wide foot company, who advertised their ‘miracle socks’ were of a design guaranteed not to cut into swollen oedema legs, very true, as they just slithered off my foot and bunched up under my arches, only prevented by full escape thanks to my shoes!

There is a positive side to this though, as all my more unisex type socks often end up in DH’s sock draw, where due to his perfectly normal size 7 narrow feet, they fit him just fine!

I didn’t realise there were so many of us needing soft, comfy, non slipping down socks.

I wear Bamboo Socks and find them soft and comfortable. They stay in place and are not tight in the ankle /leg area. Best socks I've ever worn.

Cosyfeet do a range of widths and sizes including diabetic soft top socks.

Another vote for Seasalt.

Seasalt for me too. My only problem is finding socks small enough as I have size 34 feet.

I originally 'discovered' soft-top socks in a local garden centre that no longer stocks them. However, I found that I can get them from Amazon if I search 'diabetic socks' although I am not diabetic. There are both cotton and bamboo ones available but I still prefer cotton. There's a good variety from plain colours to lively, colourful stripes.I tend to favour the stripey ones!

A vote here for Seasalt and for bamboo ones. I have a varied selection and they last for ages, plus they are lovely jolly colours and patterns. No point in being boring!

Falke are an expensive make but very good socks. They are marked L and R and are tailored to fit better. Not sure if they do a special fit for narrow or wide feet, but they do comply with my main criterion which is that the seam above the toes is absolutely flat and not like a piece of rope in your shoe which gives you blisters.

I bought my DH some diabetic socks from Aldi he reckons they are the best he has ever worn.

M&S Sumptiously Soft socks - just bought three packs (15). Perfect for me.

I like bamboo socks and used to get them from House Of Fraser but they are expensive. Just before the first lock down I saw some packs of bamboo socks in TK Maxx at quite a reasonable price. They have a wide range of packs of socks, DH always gets Pringle socks from there.

Another vote for Seasalt, they are bamboo, and have enough room for your toes to spread - and they last for ages.

I've just found bamboo socks and really like them. Garden centres seem to stock them round here.

I like Thought socks but they are quite expensive and may not meet your criteria ?. Will post link anyway in case anyone else interested.
