Is limited mobility an extra?

Sorry, last question didn't make sense. Is limited mobility a hindrance to being an extra? For example if you couldn't stand for long periods? Do you have to be tip top in health?

How did you go about finding the right agent (and is an agent a necessity?)
Do you need to be available at the drop of a hat to go to shoots/auditions? If so, I may have to wait a few years, until I can afford to retire first!

Yes, you do need an agent - quite difficult to find one - I was lucky and met someone and fortunately his agent took me on. You do have to be available at the drop of a hat, pencil job in and they don't confirm until night before! You couldn't get anywhere without an agent and you never pay upfront, they should deduct it from the job. I don't normally go to auditions cos they don't pay you but I'm fairly fussy and do go to the odd one! The Internet is the place to go to find out and by the way, it is not glamourous at all!
