Amazon Kindle Daily Deal

(50 Posts)
Libradi Mon 12-Dec-11 08:11:53

Each day we will unveil one book in the Kindle Daily Deal at a specially discounted price--for that day only. Deals go live at midnight and ends 23:59 the same day. The Kindle Daily Deal discount shown is the saving from the previous day's Kindle Price.

Not sure how long the offer will go on for but worth a look each day.

Thanks Libradi - I checked this out and they are offering a kindle book for 99p. Not my choice of reading today, but I've bookmarked the page and shall check it daily. Bargain!

grannyactivist Mon 12-Dec-11 09:04:53

Yes, I've bought a couple of these - and for 99p I'm prepared to try things that I wouldn't otherwise buy to read.

Stansgran Mon 12-Dec-11 16:26:02

It gives you a chance to stock up for when the snow hits us. I download as many samples as possible to see if I like a book in anticipation of a very large ecertificatefrom my DH. -it was on my list

MrsJamJam Mon 12-Dec-11 16:42:51

Thank you for the tip. I've bookmarked the page and will make a special effort to look at it each day. Don't fancy today's but remain optimistic!

jingl Tue 13-Dec-11 09:49:52

It sounds a good one today. American detective genre. (one of my favourite genres that is. smile)

Thanks Libradi! smile

Annobel Tue 13-Dec-11 10:01:05

Yes, thanks - I had a look at it and decided to have it. I enjoy American thriller writers like Michael Connolly and this sounds similar.

jingl Tue 13-Dec-11 10:27:33

Love Michael Connolly!

Annobel, is it you who likes King Arthur books? If it is, we must have similar tastes! (I do too)

Annobel Tue 13-Dec-11 10:43:05

Yes, I devoured the Bernard Cornwell books on my summer holiday this year. I first heard about them when I went on a U3A day course on Arthur.
I finished Connolly's 'The Fifth Witness' last week - one of the Lincoln Lawyer series. I think I prefer the Harry Bosch ones - he's another who might be a blood brother to John Rebus and Harry Hole.
Obviously we share the same tastes - any recommendations welcome.

jingl Tue 13-Dec-11 10:54:22

Just found The Lincoln Lawyer in my "to read" pile! Purchased in the summer from a fete. And A Darkness More Than Night, a Bosch one.

Must get off GN and read more!

I expect you have read John Grisham. (very good)

Annobel Tue 13-Dec-11 11:56:48

Strangely enough, I haven't read John Grisham. Not sure why. Which one would you recommend as a starter?

Carol Tue 13-Dec-11 12:07:10

I've read a few John Grishams and found The Last Juror and The Trial very interesting.

jingl Tue 13-Dec-11 12:16:47

Playing For Pizza is good. A bit different from his usual. The Innocent Man was good too - true story!!! shock

I don't think he's written a bad one tbh.

jingl Tue 13-Dec-11 12:22:55

Daughter and I read all the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich some time ago now. The first ones were very good. Went downhill a bit later.

Thought you may like to look at this only on offer at Amazon today for their 'Daily Deal' at 99p, I believe it goes back to full price after midnight. I've just bought it as its such a good price, not what I would normally read but looks very interesting.

Just finishing Ancestor Stones, the lives of a previous generation of african women brought to life. Good one.

Ganja Thu 05-Jan-12 08:50:33

I don't know how long this is going to last but it has been an
amazing selection of books. Altogether too tempting. Not doing my bank balance any good but such fun clicking on to see what is the day's offer. I tend to look at night, then look up reviews and read sample chapter with my mug of tea in the morning. libradi not quite sure what your part in this is but thanks thanks thanks=

Libradi Fri 06-Jan-12 18:36:30

I'm just a bargain hunter Ganja and don't want anyone else to miss out on these great deals smile
