The books have now been sent out - so if you get one in the next day or two don't forget to let us know what you think on this thread. There's a fabulous prize for one gransnetter who posts...so if you fancy owning a SIGNED box set of David Walliams novels you know what to do! Draw will be made at random on Tuesday 2nd April

Haven't actually read it myself as I had it delivered direct to grandsons from Amazon. Keep forgetting to read it when I'm there, but I know they loved it. They thoroughly enjoy all of his books for kids. It was first published in 2011. I think he knows exactly the kind of humour likely to appeal to his audience.

My DS read it to my DGD when I was staying and I peed my pants laughing. Brilliant!

We listened to it on cd for a long journey, 3 hours. The GCs were so enthralled they asked us to go more slowly so that we would finish the story before they got home! mr jj and I loved it too. (but in our family it is great granny who has the mobility scooter, I hope I am nowhere near it yet!)

Thanks for my copy received this morning. The grandchildren will love it.I had a good laugh at the illustration in the first chapter with its appropriate labels.I think I will have to read it first before I hand it over.

A wonderful title, I think my grandchildren quite like the thought of me being naughty! They loved it & they know him as a guy who does crazy things like swimming in the dirty Thames for charity. Thanks for the copy. I have 5 avid grandchildren readers, so it is very popular.

The man is a genius, he has a mind not quite of this world. He's funny, he pushes himself, he can think differently and yet be always so engaging. Long may he continue to publish childrens' fiction.

Where's mine? Judging from earlier comments, sounds great.

Thank you so much for the book. My eldest daughter read it and loved it. She said it was "both funny and exciting at the same time". I have just started reading it to my 6 year old. I really admire David Walliams - he is a modern day Roald Dahl.

Thank you for my copy of Gangsta Granny. I shall read it first and then read it aloud to the grandchildren when they sleep over. I used to read Roald Dahl to their mum and this brings back great memories.

I brought The Boy in a Dress and Mr Stink out to Oz for the 9 year old. He loves them. I think DW is great - a bit of an enigma and not quite of this world. I like a bit of eccentric. I thought his swim up the Thames was amazing. DD1 lives at the origin of the Thames and DD3 further up at Maidenhead, which made the whole event more interesting. Will get Gangsta Granny once home in the UK and send it out to Oz. ( books are ridiculously expensive here - equiv of £20 for a paperback shock)

Thanks so much for my copy. I took a peek inside and couldn't stop myself reading it through. Can't wait for the grandchildren to sleepover when it will be granny's choice as to what we read.....I have a granddaughter of 7 and a grandson of 31/2.....

Hi, Thanks for my copy!

DGD1 (7) is very keen to read it and will do so over the Easter Holiday when she is here. She loves the illustrations and has scanned the story ..so we are building up the excitement to read it!

I would have fallen into the aisle laughing if I had been sitting next to an aisle while I read this. Highly amusing with a wonderful story and several moving messages for all generations by the end. I loved the simple but fun illustrations too. Now all I have to do is read it to my grandson. Sure he'll love it.
