A Street Cat Named Bob

I watched a TV documentary about them, it was a touching story.

I read this book a few months ago, in fact, I think I may have recommended it on here. I originally bought the book because the picture on the front reminded me of our Pepper, but it was a lovely book, and a very uplifting story.

I have heard about it it would probably make me cry.

James and Bob have an international following on Twitter, where people take photos of themselves holding the book all over the world, and they post the pics to Twitter. Or people seek James and his cat out in London (he gives all their usual haunts in the book) and take photos and post those on Twitter too. I noticed it in a children's book format in Tesco the other day too.

That book made me realise how easy it is for someone to fall between the cracks and become someone who lives on the fringes of society.

Nelliemoser, I don`t think it`ll make you cry, it`s a happy story really.

I haven't read it yet, although I keep meaning to get it. I saw them on television a few weeks ago and he is such a beautiful cat and very self possessed. I see the children's version of the book is full of photo's of him.

Since reading the book I've bought the Big Issue, which I never did before. It gives a good insight into life on the streets and how those people are treated by society, and made to feel invisible. There's lots of stuff about James and Bob on Youtube.

Recommended to me too and I sent it on to a cat lover after appreciating it myself even though dogs are rather special to me.

Just finished reading this book. Didn't expect to enjoy it at all but was pleasantly surprised by its content. A very touching and human story, with an amazing cat at its centre. I am in love with Bob.

I had heard of this but not thought about buying the book - will now do so. HappyGran you are so write about how the homeless and less fortunate are treated by society. I always buy the Big Issue and stop and chat to the sellers, some of their stories are heartbreaking.

Just bought this on Kindle - and going off topic a bit, why does the Kindle edition cost £3.45!

I loved 'A street cat named Bob, and have just finished the sequel called 'The World According to Bob, which is equally as good.

The books help people to understand about those that stand on street corners selling the Big Issue. I now can't walk by a Big Issue seller without buying a magazine.

I hope to see James and Bob in Waterstones very shortly, where they are doing a book signing. (Rather James is doing it!)

James is also very special, as he's doing so much for animal charities. A lovely man and a faithful cat. A really good read.
