writing books

I'm a new member. At 69 (with 2 grandchildren who are both bemused and awed) I've just had my debut novel published.

It's called The Baker's Daughter and tells the story of a young widow with a teenaged daughter, Molly. Kate is trying to run a small bakery which has been in her husband's family for generations. She hires Dan as a foreman without realising he will turn her life upside down. He seems to be attracted to Kate (and she is certainly attracted to him) but he is also taking an interest in Molly. Is he the man of Kate's dreams? Or is he every mother's nightmare?

I've been writing all my life, and to have a book published is an ambition realised at last. It was a long time coming, but it shows that you're never too old! If you're a would-be writer – take heart!
