I recommended to my friend for her two young grand-daughters the children's book 'We are going on a Bear Hunt'. Just like my two young grandsons 5 and 3, they loved it. I have just found out today that it is going to be televised on Xmas Eve Channel 4 at 7.30 p.m. you may like to get your video recorders working.

Big sigh here from me! GS loved the book when he was small, along with The Tiger Who Came to Tea, but now we have to watch and rewatch scary Harry Potter and Percy Jackson Lightening Thief! I'll watch Bear Hunt though ?!

This always brings back the memory of asking children for their own ideas for problems when "going on a bear hunt" and getting told "shopping trolleys". We decided shopping trolleys went "grumble, squeak "as you tried to get through them. Signs of an urban childhood! Bet that's not in the film!

Thanks NanKate

I think I saw advertised a video game based on the story too.

why dont they show the film at a more suitable time, 7-30 pm is rather late for the little ones.

NanKate Fri 09-Dec-16 12:34:10

I agree Mumsy. In fact we won't be watching it in real time either, but it is something I will have up my sleeve for when the boys are on overload and I am too tchgrin

I will of course be holding a virtual party for grans/nans/grandpas/etc so Jalima your hot choc and mince pies will be waiting and any reasonable requests from the rest of you.
