A lovely surprise this morning - thank you. I'm ploughing through a rather heavy read at the moment. Good, but heavy - so it's a good excuse to put it to one side for a while.

I read this book a couple of months ago, and really enjoyed it. A rather unusual story, but very gentle and interesting. I hope everyone who has got a copy enjoys it too.

You beat me to it in starting the thread! Anyhow - glad that people have been enjoying - and if you get a free copy don't forget you will need to leave questions/comments for Ruth Hogan by the end of August

Thank you so much for my copy of "The Keeper Of Lost Things", which I received yesterday. Since l am labouring my way through a somewhat heavy-going tale at the moment, I decided to take a quick peek at this new book and was instantly drawn into Ruth Hogan's fairy story. I have just finished reading it and must admit that, although it is completely different from my usual reading matter, I did find it enjoyable. It is a mixture of laugh-out-loud and lump-in-the-throat with an unpredictable conclusion.
I would like to ask Ruth Hogan how she manages to make the story flow so seamlessly when there are so many strands to it and to thank her for an excellent read.

I have received my copy too. Thank you.
It's packed in my bag to read on my holiday.

What! Have I missed a trick here? Free books? Tell me, tell me. . . .

LadyGracie Wed 02-Aug-17 13:03:23

I read it in a day, a fascinating book, I loved how it all came together.

A very clever book I think, weaving itself quite intricately around the different characters. It made me laugh a lot too, Sunshine is wonderful.

I am already on the lookout for Ruth Hogans next book.

I echo the question from Worlass how did you make it flow so beautifully?

Oh, I think I've missed out this time. sad Newquay, check on the Books tab under the Gransnet logo around the middle of this month. There'll be details there of September's book club choice and a form to fill in if you want one of the 50 free books. There's a different book every month and you commit to writing a quick review of it or asking a question of the author if you are lucky enough to get one. Or if you are signed up for the GN emails, there'll be a link on there each month.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down so read it in one sitting through the early hours of this morning. Ruth, how did you come up with the idea of writing about lost things? It reminds me of those pictorial games for children with a winding, tangled line to follow from owner to possession. It was so satisfying to see the connections. Douglas! Oh, Douglas is marvellous. Ruth, please tell me you don't have a Douglas amongst your rescue dogs.
