Brilliant author, the very best in his genre. RIP John le Carre,

Love his books.
When I read The Spy Who Came in From The Cold , I came across an incident, a scene which almost exactly portrayed my FIL and the children (DH and his siblings) . Cornwell would have been considerably younger than FIL and very junior to him in “the office” but would certainly have known of him in Germany- the detail was too accurate to be mere coincidence.

Great author in his field. His books made excellent films too.

I hope they repeat the Night Manager on television.

My favourites were the 'Smiley' books but 'The Spy who came in from the Cold' was another. MawBe what an interesting anecdote! I am sorry he has died as I felt he was an intelligent writer who treated his readers as intelligent too.

A very gifted author who will be missed.
The Night Manager is running on Amazon prime video at the moment.

MawBe - how fascinating to have your family mentioned in a book. Well, not quite mentioned but they did figure in it.

I can remember discovering and reading his books on the train to work in London as a 16 year old.

Will definitely rewatch The Night Manager of the coming weeks and any others which I guess will be aired due to his death.

RIP
