Has anyone bought either of these for their grandchildren and what was the verdict, value for money, good read, informative or not worth buying? My granddaughter will be eight shortly and is an avid reader. I was considering getting a subscription to one of these as something for her to look forward to each month but would be interested in any feedback before buying.

I gave my grandson a years subscription but he wasn’t interested. However, his younger brother, a more avid reader, loved them and so did I.

Did you know there's a sample online you and/or she can read?

We have bought them for various grandchildren at the appropriate age and they have been enjoyed.

I've bought Aquila for DGD and she has loved it. She tends to look at it then go back and read different parts when she feels like it.

The subscription is due for renewal so I shall, of course, check that she still enjoys it first.

Thank you for the feedback & the link which I have passed onto the parents. I will see what they think before buying for my granddaughter.

We have bought Aquila sub for twin grandsons for about 3 years now. They are just 13 now. They don’t read much themselves but enjoy having it read to them. It probably appeals most to children who are interested in history, love museums etc.

We bought a subscription to Aquila some years ago for our youngest daughter. She loved it. Now I've subscribed for my grandsons too.
