Hi has anyone got any suggestions on what I could read? I don’t like horror stories, and prefer books with a happy ending. I like fantasy the best, I think and I have a kindle but also like reading a ‘real’ book. My favourite writers are Patricia Biggs and Alona Andrews. Thanks for your help!

Hi Madhope, if you want books with happy endings, try LUCINDA RILEY....SUSAN SALLIS...VICTORIA HISLOP..
SANTA MONTEFIORE. These stories will transport you to a pleasant place. all are available from Amazon for Kindle. Try Lucinda Riley, Seven Sisters. This is a lovey book.

Added to those from Lilian40, Victoria Connelly, Barbara Erskine, Rachel Hore, Freda Lightfoot, Kathleen McGure, and if you like genealogical histories, Nathan Dylan Goodwin, although in some May be a bit sad for you, but enthralling stories. Hope you find some inspiration, and all available on Kindle.

If you like fantasy, have you tried the Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman? The central character is Irene, a librarian with the Invisible Library, who is sent to other worlds to obtain particular books to help maintain the balance between order (represented by the dragons) and chaos (represented by the Fae). They’re really good stories with a great cast of characters and although there’s suspense and tension, they always have a satisfactory ending! I love them!

Have you read the Midnight Library by Matt Haig? Very uplifting and a kind of fantasy. And of course all of Terry Pratchett, my go to if I’m a bit down.

I enjoy novels by Daphne Neville, published on kindle but also in paperback. They are not fantasy but very down to earth, set in Cornwall where she lives.

Recently read Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell - a truly wonderful book that's beautifully written and well researched.
