A few weeks' back I mentioned on another thread that I'd taken some bits and bobs to SCOPE, a local charity shop. They take your contact details and the goods are bar-coded so they can track how much they are sold for.

I've just received an email saying that they raised £233.33! Plus 25% Gift Aid.

I can't believe that my cast-offs and junk raised so much grin

This feedback encourages me to have a further clear out!

What a lovely idea! All our castoffs go to charity shops, I have often wondered how well our stuff does.

I make jewellery for a charity and it gives me a real boost when I get an email saying how much is raised. It means I can indulge in my hobby with a clear conscience.

I donate things to a local hospice charity shop and they send an email every month telling me how much my cast offs have raised. I think if you gift aid they have to let you know how much has been raised. Last year my things raised almost £400.
