Charity skydive: Older person needed to participate

Hello everyone,

Home Care Preferred is organising a charity skydive and is looking to recruit an older person to participate, preferably 70 years of age or above.

The cost of the jump and all expenses will be paid for by Home Care Preferred with all funds raised going to the Alzheimer’s Society. The ideal person will be in good health and be happy to be part of a promotional film.

I do know someone who is about 79 who would probably do it, I will mention it to her if I see her (haven't seen her for ages though).

The Alzheimer's Society is doing a walk soon, I have sponsored a lady of 85 who will be doing it. However, that is on terra firma.

I broke an ankle in many places falling down two stairs many years ago- I dread to think what damage I could do falling from such a height. I doubt if my knee replacement would like it, apart from the fact I do not like heights.

Someone did the maths about sky diving for charity - evidently more is spent by NHS sorting out any mishaps and accidents than is ever raised by the various charities......honest was on QI so cannot be wrong.

I did one at 60yrs - if anyone is thinking about it then go for it! A wonderful experience. I might do another when elderly.

I heard the other day re a charity sky dive to raise funds for a hospital, that the injuries resulting from the skydive - nothing major but several of them - cost the hospital more than the money raised.

What a shame I have two broken arms or I'd have signed up for this no problem.

If someone takes up the challenges, why don't we all at GN enter into the spirit of it and support them by jumping off our sofas at the self same moment they leap from the plane?
