Don't feel guilty any. Just go and enjoy yourself. Hope the weather stays good for you. Lots of relaxation, and then enjoy the best sort of retail therapy. Have a lovely holiday.

Any; we feel exactly the same when we go to the seaside without The Boy! We went to Filey today - just the two of us - the Brigg is grandad's favourite place; he'll spend ages just watching the sea and the birds and, today, the seals, but if we take GS we can't get him off the beach and being four, he is pretty high maintenance so we don't get much time to do our thing! Sometimes you need a little grandchild free downtime to do your own thing. We had a lovely day - you'll have a lovely week, and there will be plenty of other times with the grandkids! Enjoy!

My husband decided about three years ago that he hated holidays, and didn't ever want to leave home again. So I made the decision, that as I don't hate holidays, I would go on my own. I have recently returned from a trip around the Greek Islands, last year Russia. I am going to places I have never been to or seen before. It is wonderful, doing exactly what I want to do, without worrying about anybody else. Always make lots of new friends as well. I also went off with my daughter for a week, and am thinking of going on a coach trip to Northumbria in the Autumn.
I am going to a Caravan Park with two daughters and 4 grandchildren in August though, and am really looking forward to that as well.

Northumbria is a wonderful magical place I do hope you enjoy it. Lindisfarne and Bambergh Castle are some of my favourite places ever. Have a lovely time

We are taking daughter and the 2 grandchildren camping in the New Forest. My other daughter mocks and calls it glamping as the tent is already up for us. I find nothing glamorous about it, no electricity or running water obviously in the tent, but the kids,5 and just 3, loved it so much it makes it all worth while. It is at the end of the month so fingers crossed for decent weather. Have had child free holiday this year , so am looking forward to this.
