hellow. smile

When I make my camomile tea do you think I should squeeze the tea bag to get maximum goodness (well, sleep)? It looks very wishy washy when I make it totally as per the instructions on the packet.
Could I use 2 teabags?

You can't overdose on camomile - can you ? shock

Baggy Mon 25-Jul-11 10:45:47

grin jangly!!!!!!

My mum uses two camomile teabags at once and goes through a HUGE bag-squeezing operation every night.

jangly, you're mad, but we love you! smile

jangly Mon 25-Jul-11 10:52:21

Right.

I will try that. Thankyou.

If I get bad dreams..... ! I'll be back!

Has anyone tried to drink an infusion of valerian when the cat's about? It seems to work on him like catnip - so, lying in bed trying to relax and sip a cup of valarian tea is impossible! He climbs all over me and tries to stick his face in the cup! shockgrin

absentgrana Mon 25-Jul-11 13:03:25

greenmossgiel Valerian is a cat's favourite, even more than catnip. In fact, one of its common names is cat's valerian. By the way, did you know that if you drink it regularly or drink lots of it, you can become addicted? Perhaps your cat is thoughtfully saving you from yourself. smile

greenmossgiel Mon 25-Jul-11 13:23:49

absentgrana - I didn't know that!!! Thankfully he did save me from myself, then - because it was absolutely impossible to drink any of it without scalding myself and him! I must tell my friend - she's poor sleeper but doesn't have a cat to guide her! smile

Elegran Mon 25-Jul-11 13:32:17

Herr Hitler was addicted to valerian (and look where it got him!!)

greenmossgiel Mon 25-Jul-11 21:12:32

Oh dear......shock!!!!

duckysnan Tue 26-Jul-11 09:59:52

i used valerian on a long haul flight ...and it worked! better than a few large whiskys even...
that was in the old days when you could take what you liked in your hand luggage..i bet it is addictive ....i had it surgically removed from my left hand..on alighting the plane!

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 10:28:02

grin duckysnan

jangly! I've decided that you must be a famous person??? Why else will you not put your photo on! Now, if I remember a few months ago Polly Toynbee wrote an article about Gransnet in the Observer Magazine, and mentioned that she may join - you're not...are you...? Really? Come on - out with it??! wink

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 10:44:32

Yes. I'm Polly Toynbee.

(for a long time I let my grandson believe I was the Queen. Encouraged him really.)

Elegran Tue 26-Jul-11 11:42:31

Come on then, post your photo. If you show yours, I'll show mine (but I'm not famous)

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 11:50:59

I hardly need to post my pic. You can just google it.

Gally Tue 26-Jul-11 11:51:37

I don't think she PT. PT would know how to use all these Smileys and things.
I like Jangly but I don't like PT much grin

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 11:52:17

Put something on my serious thread

go on

Elegran Tue 26-Jul-11 11:56:04

mossgiel I have Googled "Gransnet Observer" and I can reveal - the May article on Gransnet in the Observer was written by Geraldine Bedell, our very own Geraldine, "regular Observer contributor and editor of the Agebomb blog".

Elegran Tue 26-Jul-11 11:57:05

What is the name of your serious thread?

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 12:08:15

Oh yes. Our matron is famous.

jangly Tue 26-Jul-11 12:08:46

that is not the name of the thread.

go and have a guess

greenmossgiel Tue 26-Jul-11 12:15:25

Is that 'matron' or 'patron', jangly? Go on - you know you're Polly!!! And you're also clever enough to pretend you're not clever enough to be able to do the smileys! Go on admit it!! wink
