How would you all feel about joining in for a Gransnet singalong, we could do it for Charity? Who is up for a challenge?

jinglej Sat 29-Oct-11 22:11:17

We'd sound like this lot, wouldn't we.

Have you thought this out at all, Glass? grin

Notsogrand Sat 29-Oct-11 22:11:55

I'm up for it! Do we get to choose our own song?
Maybe Tech can give us some frinstances as to how it would work?

I'll just go and have a gargle to start tuning up the voice. smile

glassortwo Sat 29-Oct-11 22:20:14

Right suggestions for songs..................

jinglej Sat 29-Oct-11 22:21:59

YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME SINGING!

I am famous in our family for the racket I make.

jinglej Sat 29-Oct-11 22:22:28

But you carry on. I'll listen. Or just move me lips.

glassortwo Sat 29-Oct-11 22:24:29

jingle it all gels together, you might not think you can sing but its all down to harmonys.

Notsogrand Sat 29-Oct-11 22:29:44

Your link proves it can be done jingle, although we probably wouldn't need it to be that slick hmm

Something jolly and uplifting maybe?

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree?

glassortwo Sun 30-Oct-11 08:05:22

glamma did you get your instruments out and dusted?

Notsogrand Sun 30-Oct-11 09:49:14

I'm still mulling over songs we could sing.......

Maybe something more gentle or traditional would be suitable? Any ideas?

Gally Sun 30-Oct-11 09:52:30

Brilliant idea. Definitely carols - how about Rutter? Will Josie be conducting?wink

Elegran Sun 30-Oct-11 10:03:24

Could we put the words of Granto7s poem ( on "AIBU to find this a comfort and amusing") to music? It might fit to the tune of "Oh Susannah don't you cry for me". We might have to put "singing Polywolly Doodle all the day" in between each line though......

Any musicians out there who can try it out? Maybe juggle a few words here and there? Shall I run it past DGS, who was asked in his first week of a BMus to rearrange 32 bars of Beethoven's 8th symphony for piano only so should find Susannah a doddle?

Elegran Sun 30-Oct-11 10:06:13

Watch this.

Your DGS sounds very talented! I love Gran7s poem Elegran!
There's a suggestion though, that perhaps (if it works) we could do this for charity, so would we need lyrics with a wider or more general appeal?
I don't know, just guessing. confused
Carols sounds good.
What do you think Carol? grin

Notsogrand Sun 30-Oct-11 10:22:59

Elegran, what a brilliant link! Tears in my eyes.

I just love flashmobs, so exhilarating. grin
