Wooden chopping boards used for chopping garlic or chilli that infuse your toast and marmalade the next morning.
No need for it. Please don't do it. Oooh!

Butternut Thu 17-Nov-11 18:09:32

Oooh indeed, notsogrand - I'm with you there and am still trying to educate my husband about that!

My Oooh is sugar on the floor.......and someone scrunching plastic wrappers.

HildaW Thu 17-Nov-11 18:29:50

Aww Butternut, that was my Mum's pet hate.......thanks for the memory.

Mine is the mess the morning after I've iced the Christmas cake....so much icing sugar has gone up in the air its still slowly coming down for hours. So you think you've cleaned up but then its all sticky again!

Oh, and also why is it that after I've given the hob a really good clean the very next thing I seem to do is overboil some milk or similar?

Annika Thu 17-Nov-11 18:35:54

HildaW I hate the icing sugar mess also, but the added extra Oooh! is the icing sugar has also covered my glasses, Oooh! indeed.

Toast crumbs in the butter - ooooh! That's a no-no in my house.

Notsogrand Thu 17-Nov-11 21:25:17

Or butter inside the Marmite jar! Gross oooh!

glammanana Thu 17-Nov-11 21:26:29

Not cutting the fruit juice container in the correct way so that it drips everywhere when pouring.
Leaving any crumbs on my black worktop it takes seconds to wipe clean so why don't you do it.

Tins HAVE to be the right way up in the larder. In student days a housemate used to take great delight in turning them all on their heads and watching me turn them back again.

...you know who you are, Nigel.....

glassortwo Thu 17-Nov-11 21:46:16

Oooh coffee in the sugar canister, no need for it!!!

Grannylin Thu 17-Nov-11 21:49:47

Congealed crusty bits on the tomato sauce bottle-yeuk!

Grannylin Thu 17-Nov-11 21:50:15

I meant ooh!

Annika Thu 17-Nov-11 22:31:33

Sticky marmalde jars put away in the cupboard
Coffee rings from over filled mugs left on work tops
A thick coating of peanut butter stuck to a knife left in the bowl in the kitchen Oooh

harrigran Thu 17-Nov-11 22:34:09

Workmen using my new bathroom, lid and seat left up and the rim sprinkled liberally ...oooh !!

shysal Thu 17-Nov-11 22:52:34

I live alone so get none of the above - bliss! smile

grannyactivist Thu 17-Nov-11 23:09:38

Mouldy teacups left in odd places! Oooh!

Annobel Thu 17-Nov-11 23:11:57

Ooh - when the end of the Sellotape is stuck down and can't be found.

Greatnan Fri 18-Nov-11 20:48:35

I'm with you, shysal - but I do get annoyed with myself when I let the roll of aluminium foil go wrong - it takes ages to peel off all the little bits until you get a full width again (memo to self - buy one of those wall holders that have a device for cutting it straight).
I hate polystyrene packaging.

yogagran Fri 18-Nov-11 21:12:27

Cucumbers wrapped in plastic - oooh

nanachrissy Sat 19-Nov-11 16:42:41

On the positive side...... big box of favourite chocs....oooooohh! grin

kittylester Sat 19-Nov-11 16:54:12

Most of the above but cross contamination of any sort is really gross!! Toast crumbs in butter etc but even worse toast crumbs AND butter in the marmalade jar - how long has it been there cross-contaminating!! oooooh.

Hi all, 1st post smile

empty toilet roll left on the holder ooooohhhh!!

granto7 Sun 20-Nov-11 01:23:22

hi ninathenana Welcome
Now post on the ahhhh thread

Carol Sun 20-Nov-11 09:09:26

Welcome ninethenana. The reason for my empty toilet rolls swinging on the holder is a mischievous basset hound who unravels them all the way downstairs, then has the cheek to sit looking at me whilst spitting bits of toilet paper out of her mouth....oooohhhh

Greatnan Sun 20-Nov-11 09:17:19

All of the above when I had to live with my daughter and her three extremely messy children for 18 months. How come somebody with an MSc cannot understand that a towel left wet and crumpled on the bathroom floor will still be wet, crumpled and smelly next day?
They now have two large dogs - a labrador and a samoyed (which sheds white hairs constantly) which have the run of the house - I am so glad I was able to move back to France last year. When I asked for help in the house, the attitude was 'You want it clean, you clean it'. As I was only there to help my daughter financially while she waited for her medical negligence claim to be settled, I felt a bit annoyed.
