What's good in your world....?

Sounds like a good day activist, you certainly are due some.
It is May. Everything looking lush. Back home after my travels and enjoying the comfort - not living out of a suitcase, plenty of floor space to spread myself over, my own kitchen, my own choice of food. And seeing my DH.

What a nice post, activist. So many good things in my own life - my daughter in New Zealand and her six smashing children and their children, my lovely surroundings, my health (apart from a few large blisters on my chest), my dear sister and my holiday with her next week, then her holiday with me after that, my travel plans for the rest of the year, including snorkeling in Sharm with my wonderful Swiss friend in June, UK TV, Radio 4, reading, music, walking in the mountains now the snow has nearly disappeared and seeing new flowers every day, the chicken stew which is simmering in the slow cooker, coffee ice cream with cream, and of course Gransnet.

Having time now to catch up on all the jobs around the house that I've neglected, without feeling exhausted, meeting my friends whenever I like, and I've just arranged to go away to Wales for a week with my male friend soon, as well as a weekend with my two best girlfriends to another part of Wales.

Lots of lovely things in my world. Beautiful surroundings outside my front door, family I can see within minutes, dear friends who care about me as much as I care about them. Just spent a great weekend that ended with Sunday dinner with two of my children and the grandchildren, going to show off my twin grandaughters to poorly sister today - it's been a long time arranging because she doesn't often have good days - but it's all on for today. Everyting in the garden is starting to show such promise, and I'm sat here relaxing and chatting to you while my dog has her paws on my knee.....and I'm retired and still feel like it's the honeymoon period, 3 years on

Whenim, hope you all have a wonderful day with your sister. Lots of good things in my world and I'm trying to learn to focus on those rather than the negative bits. DH ( met 15 years ago) definitely one of the best bits, in spite of dreadful health problems he remains cheerful and supportive. I look from my window over Kinder which is beautiful and ever-changing. Sunshine yesterday. So many things. I am in many ways lucky and need to remind myself of that.

You echo my thoughts today, grannya. Woke up very early to incredible birdsong and even though its drizzling slightly the garden seems to be alive and bursting, can't wait to get out there in my shorts

Also woke to beautiful birdsong this morning, I'm off to the pool for an hours swim with daughter no 2 we'll share a cuppa and a catchup after..

Hope the sun comes out but I'll nip out in between showers and hoe a few weeds or maybe a few thousand... lots going on outside including Mr.&Mrs. Robin popping in and out for a few seeds and worms.. alls well

Two long sessions on the allottment removing bindweed from the raspberry patch (for now!) Very satisfying!
Getting ready to catch the train up to London to visit the Lucien Freud exhibition followed by an early supper with No.2 son.
Starting to think about our holiday next week (Florence, again by train)

Grateful that I never have trouble sleeping, I woke to bright sunlight and cloudless sky, after a wet night. My garden is lovely with spring foliage and crab blossom. And I've found someone who can come and fix my washing machine today. Cheers, everyone!

Just been to my 'best friend's' 80th birthday party. We have been best friends since the day we started school in 1937.How about that for a great friendship! We have been so lucky.

So lovely to think of all the good things in our lives.
I joined Gransnet on Saturday, the first anniversary coincided with my 65th birthday, it semed like a good day to join. Had a lovely birthday, lots of visitors, messages, beautiful cards, flowers and pressies from my wonderful family and friends. On Sunday went out to lunch with my beautiful daughters and handsome son, a chance for them to all meet up too as they have busy lives.
Yesterday spent mooching round the garden centre with my dearest OH and buying some lovely shrubs for the garden. We have had sunshine here in Cornwall between the showers and everything smells so fresh and sweet after the rain. Meeting up with a friend today for a natter and catch up.
Really enjoing retirement, how did I ever find time to go to work!
Enjoy reading through all your posts and love how you are all so supportive of one another and offer great advice but it seems like you have lots of fun too.

I can crawl out of bed thinking the damn lot is cr*p, and half an hour on that pedalling to Kenny Bruce, and I'm on top again.

A busy life! A bank holiday day with both DDs , SiLs and all DGCs and also one of my brothers came for a cuppa too with his family! A quiet morning on my own with today , DH at work, some interesting radio programmes so I can concentrate on curtain making. Having a coffee /GN break just now before tacking another length of curtain! Off later, with 2x DGC to see aunt and a cousin and her GC.

A walk in the sunshine has done me the world of good, today (Tuesday) would be the day I would usually spend with my friend and instead of sitting and doing nothing I have done as I know what she would have wanted me to do, get out there and enjoy even the most simple things in life, so I did
I feel so much better for it I now know I can face today what ever it brings and I will worry about tomorrow ..... tomorrow

A hot shepherds pie!!!

How nice to read all these lovely things when all we often hear is grumbles! This couldn't have come at a better time for me as I am going through a really wonderful patch. Thursday evening spent at the premiere of my youngest son's new ballet with the eldest son and DH, it was a great success. Friday met middle son and wife at airport and went to see the ballet again. In the evening saw great production of King and I then met up with friends and family and went for a balti. Got home just before 2 am. Saturday spent with son and wife doing all the great things Malvern had put on for the BH and then in the evening joined by youngest son and fiancee for dinner at home with champagne to celebrate his success. Sat round the table chatting all evening. Sunday spent with son and wife and then took them to the airport.

Looking forward to visiting Truro on Saturday for more ballet and Eden Project on sunday. GS's birthday in Wimbledon next week then off to Amsterdam to help middle son and wife with their new house. Canada with youngest son and fiancee in the summer - so much to look forward to.

All this with my DH of 44 years. We have good health, a nice garden and great friends and family.

Life is good for us and I'm happy that it is good for you too.
