Hello everyone.
I couldn`t find an "indroduce yourself" thread so hope it is ok to post here.

My name is Vonnie and I am 61 years young. I live in the beautiful county of Cornwall with my hubby of 42 years and my little Yorkie called Bonnie.

I have three grandchildren and two step grandchildren who I love to bits.

My hobbies are knitting (I am a moderator on a knitting forum), crochet, reading, gardening, baking and cake decorating, and going away in our caravan.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Vonnie smile

Welcome Vonnie - Not many of us about at this late hour to say hello, seems to be more early birds than night owls.

Hi, vonnie, and welcome! smile Good to have an expert knitter among us; there are often things we need help with.

Greatnan Thu 30-Aug-12 05:57:48

Good morning and welcome, Vonnie.

Welcome Vonnie, I've not been around that long myself and am still 'checking things out' but come on in, the water's fine smile. Maybe a 'hi I'm here' thread would be a good idea.

Welcome Vonnie. I'm a knitter too so would be interested in your forum.

Hi vonnie

Hello. I knitted once until I lost the thread - not an uncommon occurrence now smile. If I remember, I knitted a small, square tea pot stand under strict supervision from my Mum when I was little. My Nan made rag rugs in those days. I like idea of baking but, in practice, I like cake eating more.

Hi Vonnie and welcome , I'm a knitter but only basic stuff , never could get my head round complicated patterns... a plain school cardy I can manage .

Marelli Thu 30-Aug-12 08:53:45

Hello Vonnie - nice to meet you! smile

Welcome from me too. I started knitting when I had measles at the age of 5. Loved seeing it grow under my fingers, but cannot fathom crochet. Hope you enjoy our company!

Mishap Thu 30-Aug-12 08:54:27

Welcome - I knit and crochet too - but pain in hands ensues if I overdo it!

AlisonMA Thu 30-Aug-12 09:24:13

Hi Vonnie and welcome. I only joined this year too. I used to teach knitting at night school but have taken an enforced break as I have tennis elbow caused by knitting with some dreadful thread provided by someone who doesn't knit. It was like knitting with string - no give at all. I got her to replace it with something more sensible but by then it was too late and I wanted to finish it in time for her to take to a grandchild so didn't rest it. I'm paying for it now.

My DS2 and his wife are holidaying in Cornwall at the moment. He is showing her his childhood haunts before they go home to Holland on Sunday. She loves it.

Hello Vonnie good to meet you! I can technically knit plain stitch but have never made anything but I do crochet ... though find it hard to find new patterns!

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome Vonnie I am newish myself and have really enjoyed being part of GN. Some interesting ,challenging and downright hilarious posts mean that no matter how life is treating you there is something for everyone. I can knit but my kids used to dread me knitting anything for them and plead for shop bought knitwear ! smile

Welcome Vonnie. As Grannybug says, there is something for everyone on here. Warm, compassionate people with individual opinions and an interest in yours flowers

Hello and welcome Vonnie there are lots of topics to comment on I am sure you will find many that will intrest you.
I used to knit for my children when they were little but I have to admit I have not knitted one single thing for my three grandchildren, why I do not know perhaps its because they are dressed differently now to how I used to dress them all those years ago. What do I mean all those years ago Im only 57 grin

Hi Vonnie ~ hope you enjoy GN.
I only knit squares, during the winter months. I don't think there's much hope for me as a knitter. smile
