We have such a laugh this morning . Found evidence of chewed paper etc .

Mr Nonu duly set trap last night , a new fangled one , and the cheeky little blighter took cheese and ran .

They must be getting cleverer . grin

It's the new-fangledness - Nonu - get an old-fashioned one (or a cat!)

Nonu Tue 06-Nov-12 12:10:39

Grace , can"t get them , annoying part is we have one of the old type , but just can"t lay our hands on it .

However , Mr N is not to be beaten , so watch out mousie !

And I think I heard somwhere that chocolate or peanut butter is a more effective bait.

Nonu Tue 06-Nov-12 12:42:40

Phoenix , thanks so much , will get on to them .[ cheesy {get it ] smile]

Anne58 Tue 06-Nov-12 12:50:47

No problem!

vampirequeen Tue 06-Nov-12 12:52:40

Mars Bars are their favourites...also sticks to the trap so they can't just grab and run.

B and Q do a poison inside a sealed unit tunnel thingy that you just put where they run. The go in, eat the poison and run out the other side but nothing bigger than a mouse can access the poison. We have garden mice but have one of the tunnels next the to fridge in the kitchen just in case. If the poison gets eaten we'll know they've moved in.

Nonu Tue 06-Nov-12 12:56:00

Trouble with laying down poison , they eat it then go away to die .

Then later on there will be this vile smell , and have to locate body .

this is making me feel , UGH !! sad

You could borrow Maurice, he's ace with mice! I would suggest Digby, heaven knows he could do with the exercise, but he's strictly spiders only at the moment.

Nonu Tue 06-Nov-12 13:24:14

Post Maurice over here , straight away !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sook Tue 06-Nov-12 14:43:57

I am petrified of them.............AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH.

yogagran Tue 06-Nov-12 18:32:09

We have an ongoing problem with mice in our boiler house and now that the weather is getting colder and wetter they are going in to stay dry and warm. I have FOUR traps set (baited with peanut butter) and nearly every day there is at least one mouse in a trap. My record is three mice in one night. Don't be persuaded to get a sonic repeller as the record catch was soon after I had bought one sad

kittylester Tue 06-Nov-12 18:36:43

We have a cat called Kiwi (guess what colour he is?) who brings live mice in for us - well it is cold out there for them! grin

Oldgreymare Tue 06-Nov-12 18:38:24

Green Kitty?????

crimson Tue 06-Nov-12 18:38:35

None in the house this year, but the garage is full of droppings, so I'm going to have to get the traps out. Not looking forward to cleaning it out afterwards as it's full of junk. Got the peanut butter from last year.

Anne58 Tue 06-Nov-12 19:28:58

I too thought green kitty then realised, rugby, all black?

Maurice doesn't bring them in, just leaves bits of a "build yourself a mouse kit" on the front step. confused

Ella46 Wed 07-Nov-12 08:30:25

I just keep eating the peanut butter/chocolate for the traps! blush

JessM Wed 07-Nov-12 08:33:33

Just saw a fat one walking straight down a brick wall and along a fence. Very acrobatic to be able to walk across vertical surfaces like that.

Nelliemoser Wed 07-Nov-12 08:41:30

ella46 I assume you are not actually taking it out of the Mouse traps to eat it.? grin

vampirequeen Wed 07-Nov-12 09:32:28

I love my garden mice. I could watch them for hours.

Nanadog Wed 07-Nov-12 09:34:29

You can buy humane traps. The mice get trapped inside, alive and well. You take them outside and release them back into the wild......then leg it back indoors before they do grin
