The Xmas tree lights won't go on right! It's taking up all my morning. And a box of chocolates is rapidly disappearing. sad

DH has gone flying his aeroplanes of course. hmm

I might go out.

Mishap Wed 19-Dec-12 11:45:14

But it is part of the Christmas tradition for the lights to fail - it wouldn't be the same otherwise!

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 11:46:40

But when you get them on and turn your back the tree will fall over, its another tradition.grin

I don't believe it! He's gone out without getting the other set down, the ones with the little drums. That's why they don't look right!

I've got to go up in the roof now. I could get stuck.

Ana Wed 19-Dec-12 11:51:42

Just drape them casually - no one will notice! grin

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 11:53:20

Want my drum lights!!!!!! sob

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 11:53:43

I'm scared to go up there.

Bags Wed 19-Dec-12 12:12:16

Take your phone with you, jings. Seriously. My back played up once when I was in the loft without a phone. 4yo dd had to find it and bring it up the ladder.

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 12:18:12

Wait for him to come back and get him to get them down and then he can dress the tree or be deprived of privelidges wink

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 12:26:49

Wot? His fried cheese sandwiches?

I've been up. Can't find 'em. sad I'm going up again for another look.

No-one to phone anyway Bags. He never has his phone switched on hmm I'd just have to wait it out.

Bags Wed 19-Dec-12 12:33:38

I meant for emergency services, not husbands.

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 12:34:15

Oh shite! Scary!

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 12:42:07

I've found them!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ☆ smile

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 12:43:15

Well don! Now you need a wine before you go on to the next stage.

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 12:44:46

I'm already getting indigestion from the choccies! grin

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 12:51:02

Then the wine won't make you feel worse and might make you feel better grin

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 12:56:20

grin Stop leading me in the way of temptation!!! I've got mince pies to make next.

Could be fun actually.

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 13:54:54

I got carried away making more on Monday, added loads of Baileys!

Its Christmas, time to throw caution to the wind.grin

Barrow Wed 19-Dec-12 13:55:55

I'm not bothering with a tree this year but in the past I would put it up and trim it while DH was on his "boys night out", but I would have a bottle of wine to hand (it's thirsty work!) and very often found I had to redo it the next day grin

Ana Wed 19-Dec-12 14:27:38

Barrow! grin

dorsetpennt Wed 19-Dec-12 14:49:37

I had to steal lights that I'd used to decorate the front window for the trees as one set was kaput. My DD came to help me get everything down for our tree etc. We seem to have anawful lot of decorations - I think next year I'll pass some onto my son and his family.

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 15:14:46

Is this thread in danger of getting serious? grin

numberplease Wed 19-Dec-12 15:37:57

Our tree`s gone kaput and been binned by himself in temper! It`s a fibre optic with extra lights shaped like coloured stars. The fibre optics went first, he put the spare bulb in and they were OK again, but the stars had nearly all gone out, so now we just have daughter`s spare 2` tree, very pretty, but a bit diddy.sad

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 16:31:46

I think I had one like that Numberplease. Mine had red stars. It hung on for a long time but it was noisy.

Well, I've finished the tree at last and it does look very pretty. smile Can you believe it's taken me all day? And I've still got the wobble-on-chair decs to do. And there are boxes everywhere. hmm

Press on! 2moro.
