Some of you may remember that last week I posted that the cooker part of my Aga had stopped working. The engineer called on Wednesday and it needed a new part - whilst he was here he rang a couple of suppliers who said they could get the part but not before Christmas. He left promising to try to find one for me.

Yesterday morning just as I was about to leave to visit a friend he rang to say he had managed to get the part and would call later in the day. True to his word he came, fitted the part and the cooker is now working again.

He had apparently contacted every supplier of Aga parts and eventually found one in Cardiff who had what was needed and had it sent to him. What a star!

I thought the bill would be horrendous but including parts, labour and vat only came to £220.

Isn't it great to have that sort of service, Barrow. He's the man who will get all his work on recommedation by word of mouth smile

Barrow that is great news. I am sure you thanked him profusely.

It is so good to hear of good service as mostly people only tell us when things go wrong. We recently used a local electrician to move a socket which was connected to others in several directions. He put it in the wrong place for which I partly blame DH as I think he should have marked the wall. He apologised and spent another 40 minutes putting it in the right place. His bill was £30! Where we used to live no one got out of bed for less that £150/200!

I have already booked him to come and service the Aga in July!
