I have had a PJ day today, first time I have managed some time to just do nothing, I was feeling a little down, but feel as though I have unwound a bit. Glad its all nearly over and can get back to normal.

flowers glass. Hope the "down" was not too bad and that you will soon be up againsunshine !

Nothing like a PJ day glass. Glad you've unwound a bit. smile

Ana Sun 30-Dec-12 20:07:29

I share your feelings, glass! Tomorrow is the first day I'll be able to just do nothing, and I'm really looking forward to it....grin

I read it as a PLJ Day and thought you were doing a detox. Does anyone remember PLJ? Why didn't we just buy lemons?

glassortwo Sun 30-Dec-12 20:10:32

I remember it crimson grin

Ana Sun 30-Dec-12 20:13:27

Because it contained the juice of 6 million lemons, that's why, crimson! grin (or something like that....)

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:14:53

PLJ, Nimble bread and those toffee flavoured things you ate before a meal 'to stop you feeling hungry' [the ones I used to eat by the handful]. Were they called 'Ayds'? An unfortunate choice of name several years later. Why am I thinking of these things. Is it a delirium caused by so much overeating?

merlotgran Sun 30-Dec-12 20:15:53

PLJ and those horrible Energen rolls used to signal the start of my mother going on another diet. hmm

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:15:59

It went in to liquidation. I find that quite chucklesome....

tanglerose Sun 30-Dec-12 20:16:32

Remerber PLJ too, my mother thought it would be a wonder slimming thing. Probably couldn't get fresh lemons so easily then. Just as a by the way and to help anyone else contemplating a slimming campaign in 2013 my mil tells me that when butter sinks into toast it no longer has any fattening properties!! Hope she is right on that one!

glassortwo Sun 30-Dec-12 20:16:37

grin I had forgotten about Ayds grin

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:16:43

Energen. Like stale sawdust....

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:17:04

..with lots of holes in...

Ana Sun 30-Dec-12 20:17:26

Yes, those Ayds things didn't work, did they? confused. They tasted like fudge and did not fill you up...

glassortwo Sun 30-Dec-12 20:17:49

tangle I hope she is right as hot buttered toast is my comfort food, but managed to avoid it today.

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:18:41

re the butter. Y'mean if youcan't see it it doesn't count. Cunning plan to eat with a blindfold on in future...

Riverwalk Sun 30-Dec-12 20:19:22

Wasn't PLJ supposed to be like grapefruit and 'burn away the fat' - didn't work grin

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:20:34

They did if you ate the whole box, Ana. And then you couldn't afford to eat for the rest of the week anyway.

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:21:20

I think it stopped you having a sweet tooth. I can still shudder at the tartness of it.

tanglerose Sun 30-Dec-12 20:21:47

Crimson grin I had not thought about a blind fold what a simple answer to the dieting problem shall buy one tomorrow!!

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:22:16

And it made my teeth so sensitive I couldn't eat anyway, so it did work after a fashion.

glassortwo Sun 30-Dec-12 20:22:41

I used to eat lots of grapefruit as a starter never made any difference..... think the problem may have been what I ate after!!!

crimson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:23:18

I've just realised this is my forty fifth year of being on a diet. Theneverendingdiet sad.

Riverwalk Sun 30-Dec-12 20:25:27

Tangle a blindfold might give hubby strange ideas grin
