new glasses! Did anyone else notice them on QI?

We wore them round his neck and they opened at the front and seemed to click together as if magnetic.

Awesome.

Want some.

Were they the ones that open in the middle bit (over the nose) before letting them hang on the chain? A little bit old womanish perhaps but then that's probably okey dokey.

Clearly yes they were, but you posted your extra bits Bags while I was laying ma thang down.

Old womanish?! Bullshit! Marvellous and practical invention.

Stephen fry tweeted about them last year

For all those fascinated by my magnetic reading glasses, you can find them here: clicreadersuk.co.uk & no to the cynics, I’m not endorsing!

Old personish in the sense of it tends to be older people who need reading glasses. But you shouldn't...

oh never mind

Sigh

What hope of stopping ageism though if even we call practical inventions old womanish.

No, I'm not cross. smile

Bags It's just that I have never seen a man with them before, but plenty of women.

I haven't seen SF but from what you describe I think they are the same as worn in one of the CSI programmes by the pathologist (sorry hope that's not too low brow for you grin)

I have been looking for those glasses for ages as I saw them on CSI. Thank you Gransnetters, I am so happy to have at last found where they are sold.

Glasses Direct were selling them a few years ago.
I was tempted.....thought they may have made me look intelligent!

(May/might? I don't know which one is correct, sorry pedants grin )

Thank you Baubles.

I think it was only when Larry Grayson started wearing his bins on a chain that most of us blokes realised it was a reasonable thing to do, and to hell with Burgundy with feeling a bit camp...
