He has come on the Tv last night or two I think advertising something . Suppose a new CD , couldn't be bothered to listen , so muted.
I am probably among the very few who are not keen , don"t know why as he is relatively inoffensive , but he really grates on me. {as for being the British Elvis } in your dreams !
Same goes for McCartney with his dyed hair --- give it up , your voice has gone .
Hmmmm

With you there, Nonu! Cannot stand Cliff Richard or Paul McCartney. They've had their day, I think.

Nonu Wed 20-Nov-13 15:23:57

Well that is two of us anyway ! wink

Lona Wed 20-Nov-13 15:25:24

Make that 3!! grin Yuk!

Ana Wed 20-Nov-13 15:25:32

Three of us...!

Ana Wed 20-Nov-13 15:26:06

OK then, FOUR of us! grin

Gagagran Wed 20-Nov-13 15:37:33

And five - speaking as a true Elvis lover!

merlotgran Wed 20-Nov-13 15:40:44

Cliff Richard and Paul McCartney both look like ventriloquist's dummies now.

specki4eyes Wed 20-Nov-13 15:43:31

Can we add Cilla Black to the list?

Why do they think they are interesting?

penguinpaperback Wed 20-Nov-13 15:45:29

Number 8....form an orderly queue please. grin

Lona Wed 20-Nov-13 15:46:28

And Esther Rantson grin poor thing she gets so lonely!

sunseeker Wed 20-Nov-13 15:55:08

Count me in. Also why are Monty Python reforming - never found them funny.

whenim64 Wed 20-Nov-13 15:59:32

Count me in. Can't stand Cliff Richard or Paul McCartney - never could.

annsixty Wed 20-Nov-13 16:04:42

One more vote here C.R. makes me shudder and I don't know why.

Charleygirl Wed 20-Nov-13 16:05:38

And me.

annsixty Wed 20-Nov-13 16:07:03

Reminds me of The Portrait of Dorian Grey.

Granny23 Wed 20-Nov-13 16:07:48

Never liked Cliff Richard, tho' the Shadows were Brill! I agree with Merlot that both Cliff and Paul McC are less animated than Dummies. But I have always liked Cilla Black since I saw her perform live some 50 years ago - what a powerful voice she had then and she has had the sense to retire from singing now that it has gone.

Gally Wed 20-Nov-13 16:10:46

Count me in too - saw CR on the One Show last week but quickly turned it off. What is it that makes a man of 73 want to try to look like a boy of 17?? Grow up and accept the inevitable gracefully CR. Never did like PM even in his heyday [yuk emoticon]

LizG Wed 20-Nov-13 16:22:07

Don't like Cliff or, I am ashamed to admit, Elvis. Paul has had it now as well. I used to enjoy winding my OH up by suggesting Elvis 'was before my time'!

gillybob Wed 20-Nov-13 16:35:08

I could have written your original post Nonu can't stand the smugness of Cliff (holier than thou) Richard and Paul McCarney should retire gracefully as he can no longer hold a note.

I saw CR on the One Show too Gally he was cringeworthy.

feetlebaum Wed 20-Nov-13 17:01:11

LizG Why are you ashamed of it? Presley came along when I was in my mid-teens - that was right in 'my time' - and I thought him a joke. I still do...

Granny23 I was on shows with Cilla before she ever had a hit - we used to say she had three voices: High, Low and Overdrive...

Sadly, Helen Shapiro has followed the Cliff Richard line in religious fervour.

merlotgran Wed 20-Nov-13 17:04:47

sunseeker, I fear it will be less Monty Python and more Last Of The Summer Wine hmm

v

LizG Wed 20-Nov-13 17:06:58

Nice to know I am not alone feetlebaum its just that OH plays EP music constantly in the car so I thought I was alone in not seeing him as 'the King'

NfkDumpling Wed 20-Nov-13 17:11:36

I saw him on the One Show too. I felt embarrassed for him. Doesn't he (and Paul M) realise how terrible they look? As for their 'singing' ........

Grannylin Wed 20-Nov-13 17:16:50

Why do they all look so much older than we are?grin
